Cliff Morris - Hello! Wrestling fans welcome to another exciting night of action with Saturday Night Eruption! We are coming off the crowning of the 2023 Coronation Cup winner in David Carroll who won the 2023 tournament after a match of the year candidate in the finals. Now in awaits his shot at the UWL World Championship on July 22nd. But before that we have a loaded night of action here tonight with a huge card. So let's not waste another second let's go to the ring to kick off the action!
Abby Joseph is standing next to a woman who towers over her.
Abby Joseph: I am standing here with the UWL’s newest signee Jenna Jillian Walker. Welcome to UWL Jenna.
Jenna Jillian Walker: Thank you, Miss Joseph.
Abby Joseph: Please call me Abby.
Jenna nods her head in agreement.
Abby Joseph: In your very young career you have already seemed to be on quite the roll.
Jenna Jillian Walker: It feels like it, Abby. 2023 is my rookie year. I was able to hone my skills in Philadelphia training at a school there before going to places like Dallas and New York to do very well for myself.
Abby Joseph: I would say so considering Mr. Jefferson doesn’t sign just anybody.
Jenna Jillian Walker: That is sweet of you, Abby, but tonight I am going to go out there and show the world that Mr. Jefferson’s faith to bring me into UWL is justifiable. Starting tonight the UWL audience and the rest of the wrestling world will see my technical wrestling skills are second to none and I will work my ass off to become a champion here too. Because I put in the work that most people won’t do so I can gain the accomplishments my opposition cannot when the time comes. So, Ace can travel the world to find what he is looking for but it’ll be me earning the world. Simply because I put the proper amount of work in and I trust the process.
Abby Joseph: Thank you, Jenna.
Jenna smiles and walks away.
The picture cuts across the arena and cuts to the ring.

We open up on an establishing shot of a modest-sized, modern church on a picturesque, sunny day. There's not much time to look at the structure as the shot transitions to an office interior. We can see a wooden desk that is relatively neat, with papers in a metallic bin on the left side, a few books stacked with binders facing out on the right. If one were to read the spines of the books, they would find a common, religious theme, including one bible. A nameplate on the desk read "David Carroll".
The camera slowly pans to the right and temporarily stops on a short, wooden bookshelf pushed back against the wall next to a window. The books that the shelves house is of no real importance, but the object on top of the furniture stands out amongst everything else in the rather drab room. Sitting there in all its splendor, is the UWL Coronation Cup, recently won by David Carroll.
Interrupting the shot is a man walking by the camera. He's quite unremarkable, maybe early thirties, average height with a slight build, glasses perched upon a nose that's maybe a little too long. The man sorts through half a dozen envelopes in his hand as he stops a few feet behind David Carroll, who is busy adjusting his tie in front of a full length mirror.
Guy: "Mr. Carroll, this is almost unprecedented in this community. If these are like the other donations we've received, we'll have enough money to help a lot of people."
David: "And to build upon the church."
David doesn't meet the man's eyes in the reflection as he speaks. He seems more intent on making sure his tie is perfectly even. The man behind David nods and stammers a bit.
Guy: "Yes, of course, sir."
At the word sir, David smiles and turns to face the man. He places a hand on the man's shoulder and looks him in the eye, which causes the man to seemingly shrink an inch.
David: "The larger the church and its influence, the more good we can do."
David removes his hand and walks towards the Coronation Cup, standing before it. He bends down and we can see a sliver of his reflection in the golden metal. He moves a couple of hairs that didn't look out of place to anyone but himself most likely.
David: "You see Jeffrey, I'm a man of great vision. I see this Church in its current form as a beacon. A beacon of light in this dark world that will attract those who feel lost, and those who are looking for a sense of purpose and community."
In the background, just out of frame, we can hear a slight muffled noise but it doesn't deter David from checking himself out in the trophy.
"When I won this Coronation Cup, besting five opponents in a row, including the current UWL World Champion, it finally opened the eyes of many of the doubters. The people that said there was no place for God in the world of professional wrestling. But God prevails, as he always does. And eventually, I prevailed, and now…now my good man, we shall finally began to reap the fruits of our arduous labors."
David stands up straight and backs up a few steps to where he had been previously standing by the mirror, but he hasn't taken his eyes off of the cup. If he had, he would have no doubt seen the reflection of a very intense Billy Danielson with his fists clench, standing just about ten feet behind him. But he keeps talking first.
David: "Yes, Jeffrey, I think that our victories are going to be the turning point to getting the…"
David stops speaking as his eyes finally looked back to the mirror, where he locks eyes with Billy. David's eyes go wide.
David: "Holy…"
Billy rushes towards David, who can only turn around before he gets speared into the mirror behind him, causing it to shatter and rain down tiny shards of glass around the two men. They fall with Billy on top, ignoring any pieces of glass and raining down punch after punch on David who tries desperately to defend himself. After a few seconds, Billy gets up and moves over to the desk, beginning to grab the books that were there and hurling them at David. David manages to cover up and get to his feet, but is met by Billy who holds the Bible over his head with both hands, before bringing it crashing down onto David's forehead. David goes down with a groan, holding his head.
Billy: "That's some serious Bible thumping, ain't it?!"
Billy looks over at the Coronation Cup for a beat, then smirks and begins to walk over to it. He grabs it and turns back to David, who is on his knees with a ceramic status of Mary. David swings the statue low, catching the statue's face directly into Billy's groin, causing Danielson to drop the Cup on David's desk. David looks down at the statue, with its face still buried into Billy's groin as he doubles over and David's eyes go wide again as his hands come together temporarily.
David: "Holy Mother forgive me!"
Billy's foot shoots out to kick the still kneeling David over, using the desk for support to not go down. Before he can fully recover, David is back to his feet and tackles Billy around the waist, pushing his lower back into the edge of the desk. Billy goes down holding his back. David briefly surveys the scene around him, fuming, bending over and yelling at Billy.
David: "You thought you could attack me here?! IN A HOUSE OF GOD?!"
David stomps on Billy a couple of times then moves around the desk to pick up his chair. He doesn't see that Billy has crawled over to a cabinet near the door where communion wafers and a bottle of red wine sits. David has difficulty getting the chair out from behind the desk and eventually gives up, walking over towards Billy who turns, stands, and sprays David in the face with the wine. David's mouth was open, so he spits some out instinctively, which causes Billy to point at him.
Billy: "You just spit out the Blood of Christ! Blasphemer!"
This catches David off-guard, causing him to furiously shake his head.
David: "I didn't mean…!"
Before he can finish though, Billy chucks a tray of communion wafers that hits David square in the chest, causing the wafers to go flying throughout the room. David staggers back, Billy follows up by kicking him the stomach. Billy sets up David for the Imperium, angling him towards the desk, but David hits Billy with three hard back elbows to break the hold. While Billy is staggered, David takes a step back, spins and hits David's sling, a spinning elbow to the jaw, causing Billy to spill over the desk. David follows up, opening the closet to the left side of the desk. He drops a knee across Billy's face for good measure, then drags Billy into the closet, closing it and propping his desk chair against the knob. With that done, he finally takes a moment to catch his breath, searching through his desk drawers before finding a rag and wiping down his face.
In the background, we can hear an organ begin playing, which catches David's attention. He mutters something to himself about the show needing to go on, and straightens his hair and tie as he opens the door and walks out of the room. His suit is disheveled from the fracas, but he walks undeterred as the camera follows him. We can hear a commotion of concerned throughout the audience before we can see them, as David has walked out onto the stage and takes position behind a podium. His hands are raised, palms out and fanning down in a calming motion.
David: "Settle down, settle down everyone! Please, be seated and do not be alarmed."
The camera pans over the crowd, half of whom were standing but now begin to lower themselves back into their pews. There is still a murmur, most likely due to David's appearance, which he begins to straighten out the cuffs on his suit jacket in response.
David: "I know that I must look a wreck. An agent against God thought he could come into His house and smite me. Smite all of us! How very wrong he was. I will deal with the wicked one later, for he could not keep me from my flock."
David turns away from the attached microphone for a moment to catch his breath. When he turns back, he places his hands on each side of the podium and leans in.
David: "I'd like to start today with a prayer that we usually leave towards the end of our sermons, The Lord's Prayer. Please, if you would be so kind to join me in kneeling and bowing your heads."
The mass begin to follow David's instructions, although some more hesitant due to confusion more than anything else. David looks out amongst the crowd and when he's satisfied, he begins, with the crowd joining him.
All: "Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name…Thy Kingdom…"
Everyone temporarily stops as they hear a commotion from the area that David came from. He shoots a quick glance, then closes his eyes and encourages them to continue.
All: Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day…"
More noise followed by a yell comes from that direction, causing more people to stop and murmur, wondering what's going on behind unseen walls.
David: "OUR DAILY BREAD!"
He shouts to get their attention, which seems to work.
All: "And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation…"
A few people in the crowd begin to shout as David persists. Billy Danielson comes darting out.
David: …but deliver us…"
Before he can finish, Billy absolutely nails David with a Chicago Blackout, causing him to go sprawling and sliding a few feet down the stage. More churchgoers begin to get out of their seats and yell, but nobody makes a move towards the unhinged looking Billy Danielson. He turns and approaches the microphone.
Billy: "FINISH IT!"
The crowd murmurs in confusion again, which Billy responds by slamming his fist on the podium.
Billy: "Deliver us…FINISH…IT."
They look reluctant, but nobody seems to want to upset this invading madman. It's not altogether, but they do respond loudly.
Crowd: "…FROM EVIL"
Billy cackles to himself, then turns back to David who is just coming to. He grabs David by his hair and levels him with a right hand, causing the man to go sprawling towards the table near the back of the stage. The crowd is once again raucous, as the camera pans over to see many standing up and yelling at Danielson, some parents hiding their children's eyes and quite a few heading for the exit doors. David gets to his knees, blood tricking down over his right eye as Billy approaches.
David: "You don't want to do this Billy. This is not what Jesus would want!"
Billy stops for a moment as if he is considering what David just said. David takes the opportunity to get to his feet, reaching behind him to grab a large wooden cross off the table.
Billy: "Well, if you want to be Christ-like…"
David tries to swing the cross at Billy, but is caught with a boot to the mid-section that causes the cross to go skittering across the stage. With David bent over, Billy hoists him up into his inverted crucifix bomb, The Franchise. He holds David there for a moment, turns to the audience so they can see David's arms spread out wide, then turns back and launches David through the table. It immediately caves in the middle, and David is unconscious in the wreckage. Billy looks down at him, then walks back to the podium. He looks out amongst the crowd with a smirk, then levels a gaze at the camera and leans into the microphone.
Billy: "Amen!"
With that, Billy exits the stage as the camera focuses on David, still unconscious amidst the destruction left in Billy Danielson's wake. The camera then pans back up to Billy, who is seen at the far end holding up the Coronation Cup.
Billy: "You want this back? Come and get it!"
Billy turns and walks off as the scene comes to a close.

Both men stand on the top of the entrance ramp with a look of ruthlessness about them, they look at each other, nodding heads and fist bumping, before making their way down to the ring. Garlan Brown - We sent a video earlier this week that to my surprise UWL posted. We want to know when Absolution is going to get their shot a the UWL Tag Team Championship?
Brown looks at Adler as the referee tries to get them out of the ring.
Garlan Brown - Referee get out of my face or I’ll slap you silly!
The referee warns them as he backs up.

Brown slings the microphone at Watson as Adler leaps at him punching him with wild punches.
Cliff Morris - Silas Adler as just attacked Miles Watson!!
Adler punches away on him. Brown turns and takes down Beckett with a lariat. He jerks him up sending him over the top rope out to the floor. Brown turns and joins Adler kicking away on Watson.

The Coronation Cup shines in the light as we open. The prestige of the trophy radiates as a man walks up behind it, but he isn’t the owner. Instead of David Carroll, we get The Franchise of The UWL, Billy Danielson. He smirks at the camera, as he places his hand on the Coronation Cup.
Billy Danielson - This is such a gorgeous trophy.
Billy lifts the trophy and looks at his reflection. He messes with his hair and tries to pick his teeth before setting back down with a laugh.
Billy Danielson - Truth is I didn’t earn this, nor do I deserve this…
Billy looks down at the trophy with a bit of self-reflection, before smirking. Remembering why he took the trophy in the first place.
Billy Danielson - However, I took this trophy, because it’s just the first part of a huge receipt that’s coming to David Carroll. He wanted me to forget about him. He wanted me to move and and we become friends, but how?
The Franchise starts to get a bit fiery as he continues.
Billy Danielson - You have stolen opportunity after opportunity from me. You have robbed me of so much momentum in this company. You use my moves, you have cost me matches, you constantly try to grab my attention. WELL YOU GOT IT, DAVID!!!
Danielson slams his fist on the table that the Coronation Cup is on, nearly knocking it over, but quick reflexes stop it from hitting the ground. Billy puts it back on it’s base and quickly goes right back into being passionate.
Billy Danielson - This is just step one. I didn’t even want this trophy, but I saw it standing there in your office, and I knew this would be the perfect appetizer for what I have planned for you in the coming shows. You want to be Christ-like so bad, I’m about to put you through the desert and then crucify you for everyone to watch.
Billy takes the Coronation Cup Trophy and places it underneath the table for right now.
Billy Danielson - But that’s for another time.
He widens his arms with a big smile.
Billy Danielson - Big D, Daron Smythe. The Man who beat The Man who Beat Me. Mr. UWL World Heaveyweight Champion himself.
Billy laughs a bit.
Billy Danielson - I know I’m not your favorite person, but I hope you know, I was always rooting for you. If anyone in this company could beat me, I wanted it to be you. It didn’t happen that way, but what can you do?
He shrugs.
Billy Danielson - And you didn’t need to beat me to become World Champion. So you ended up being the big winner after all, aye, D?
Billy silently chuckles as he smiles at the camera and shakes his head.
Billy Danielson - I won’t lie, I’m not 100% sure why I’m in this match. Was I chosen? Does my name still carry the weight my win-loss record can’t seem to keep up with? I wish I knew, but I don’t.
A single finger gets raised.
Billy Danielson - What I do know, is that I’m not letting this opportunity slip away. It’s no secret I’ve been struggling to get back to prior form. Doesn’t help when the bad guy from Hunchback of Notre Dame can’t seem to stay out of my business.
The thought of David Carroll dressed up as Frollo makes Billy laugh to himself.
Billy Danielson - Is it my smoldering eyes that scorch his soul, or the sun caught in my raven hair blazing in him out of all control? All I know is Hellfire is banger.
Billy shakes his head and tries to get back on topic.
Billy Danielson - THE POINT IS…
He takes a deep breath.
Billy Danielson - Tonight is an opportunity I don’t necessarily deserve, and yet, it can fix so many things. A win over you tonight, the World Champion and Quarter Finalist of the Coronation Cup, will set me up as a possible #1 Contender. Tonight, we may see Billy “The G.O.A.T.” come back in full form for the first time in MONTHS.
Clapping his hands together, he starts to wrap things up.
Billy Danielson - And I know you understand the predicament I’m in. I have people in this company counting on me that I need to provide for, and I have just as many people praying on my permanent downfall I need to prove wrong. If not for them, I at least need to do it for me, because I need to prove to myself that I deserve to be where my name carries me. So, I have to walk away with the win. There’s simply no other way.
He takes a breath.
Billy Danielson - This isn’t college football, there is no quality losses for me to take to make myself look good anymore.
Billy pauses and stares deeply into the camera. You can see the need and the desperation in his eyes.
Billy Danielson - I don’t just want to beat you, Daron. I NEED to beat you. I HAVE to beat you.
Another deep breath and pause.
Billy Danielson - And so, I will beat you, Daron. My longevity depends on it.
Billy reaches underneath the table and grabs the Coronation Trophy and starts to walk away.

Nick Danger is shown in a gym in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania having a sweat on his face training for his match with Cory Chevelle for the UWL World Television Championship. Nick looks at the camera and speaks
Nick Danger: Cory Chevelle I will be fighting you for the UWL World Television Championship. I am ready for this because last year I lost the title against Daron Smythe and it bothered me because I knew I could be better inside that ring.
Nick takes a breath and speaks with a tone of determination
Nick Danger: I don't want to be left in the dust no more so that is why if I can't defeat on Saturday me and Ace Sky will fight for the UWL Tag Team titles again at Championship Extravaganza. But I will be the person to win championship gold again in UWL just wait and see.

Backstage at the CFG Bank Arena, and the Heritage Champion in position for a one-on-one with a camera and the UWL audience. The Weatherman is shirtless; his pecs budge, broad shoulders peaking like a pair of mountains. The Heritage Championship belt is firmly around his waist. Burnsidie's long hair is tied up in a knot and his eyes are covered by sunglasses. The Weatherman looks like he's ready for a stroll down the beach.
Jackson Burnside: "Weather forecast for Baltimore! Hot, high's in the low 90s, chance evening showers and a 100% - that's right a guarantee - of another bell-to-bell banger of a battle featuring your Universal Wrestling League Heritage Heavyweight Champion!"
He laughs and slaps the center plate of the belt with both hands.
Jackson Burnside: "June was all about the Coronation Cup, and although this old weather man came up short it's July now. As we move into a white hot summer, your white hot Champion has been asking for one thing: a little bit of competition! Brother it's been the same thing week in week out. Somebody steps to the Weatherman, and somebody winds up on my shoulders tapping out to the Torture Rack. I'm hungry, and a little ol' summer barbeque ain't gonna satiate this appetite! I'm craving competition, and right now nobody is up to snuff. So tonight it's a Proving Ground and I've got a date with a man who fancies him the Undeniable übermensch."
Burnside stops himself. He cocks his head slightly to the side, grins again, and points at the camera.
Jackson Burnside: "Truth be told, just between you and me brother, I'm actually excited for this.[/i]
He steps back from the camera, his arms spread wide.
Jackson Burnside: "The only thing I want more than some stiff competition is a stiff striker. Deacon Cromwell you're a big man with big hands and big power. You took down the Enforcer two weeks ago, and that's respect brother." Burnside bumps his chest with a balled fist. "If that wasn't enough, tonught's your chance to cement your place. But brother, I'm not on the downswing like Anthony Cross. This moon ain't waning; it hasn't even waxed to a full zenith dude! Tonight, you don't beat me Deacon! You don't pin the Weatherman, 'cause it ain't time for my curtain call! Maybe you withstand the storm and endure the time limit, but nobody beats me tonight. If and when you endure, I promise there isn't a chance that you beat me for this."
He puts his hands on the Heritage Title again.
Jackson Burnside: "So bring your best brother! Survive if you can, but do this humble weather man a favor first. Go find Rylee Poverly, track down Anthony Cross or old Hirayama; maybe see if Ace Sky is still kickin' around! Find 'em and ask 'em what it feels like when the Weatherman raises your body up, throws you over his back, and racks your body. Here's what I think: you end up on my shoulders it's more than a broken back - for you Deacon, it's the start of heartache."
Jackson steps back from the camera so his entire body is in view. He spreads his arms out.
Jackson Burnside: "Take your shot brother. Better not miss."

The picture cuts across the arena and cuts to the ring.
Emily Lyle - The following contest is a Proving Ground match with a fifteen minute time limit!
The lights in the arena go out and there's the sound of thunder cracking. "Weather Man" starts to play and a few seconds in lights come up focused on the aisle way. Jackson Burnside stands in the entryway behind a black umbrella with "The Weatherman" written across it in reflective silver lettering. As the lyrics to the song kick in he spins the umbrella, and eventually spins it around himself in a twirl. Jackson faces the crowd, throws the umbrella over his shoulder one right hand and he makes a "finger gun" motion out to the crowd with his left.
Emily Lyle: "Blowing in from the Windy City; standing six-five and weighing in tonight at three-hundred and sixteen pounds. He is the UWL Heritage Champion 'The Weatherman', Jackson Buuuuurnsiiiiiide!"
As Emily announces him, Jackson walks on down to the ring with a pep in his step in very performative manner. He sings along with the lyrics to "Weather Man", he bumps fists with people in the crowd, points around with his free hand or the umbrella. Jackson reaches the ring and rolls under the bottom rope. He gets up one knee at a time and walks in a small circle. The song begins to to build up the chorus and Jackson climbs up to the nearest turnbuckle. He puts his head down and holds the umbrella with both hands.
Let the rain come down and I'm pushin' through! 'Cause I'm a weather man!"
Jackson throws his head back in sync with the song. His right arm raises the closed umbrella high into the air. He holds up on the top rope for awhile, and finally after jumping down he removes the long black leather coat and sunglasses. He hands them along with the umbrella to somebody at ringside. He takes a moment to bounce off the ropes and he runs them a few times. Finally he stops in the middle of the ring and continues to hype himself up while waiting.
Cliff Morris - It’s time for the Proving Ground match. As…..
Burnside runs at Cromwell nailing him with a big boot. The referee calls for the bell. Burnside grabs him and drops him with a Gorilla Press slam. He turns and jerks the ropes back and forth.
Cliff Morris - Jackson Burnside has came out like a storm from the sky!
Logan Acker - You can say that again!
Burnside jerks Cromwell up and throws him into the Torture Rack. He locks it on, the referee calls for the bell. Burnside drops Cromwell and jerks the ropes back and forth.
Cliff Morris - This one’s all over!
Emily Lyle - The winner of this match The Weatherman Jackson Burnside!!
Burnside hoist the Heritage Championship into the air as the show cuts to a break.

WHEN YOU FALL DOWN ON YOUR KNEES BEG FOR MERCY, MISTER PLEASE THE TIME HAS CONE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT THERE AIN'T NO JUDGE FOR PLEADING TO WE DONE CONVICTED YOU THE DEVIL GETS YOUR SOUL TONIGHT!
The crowd is deafening as Cory Chevelle comes out on the ramp. He's got the UWL Television Championship draped over his right shoulder, and rocking his black cowboy hat to go along with the denim jeans and black t-shirt he's in. Chevelle stops at the top of the ramp and raises his title, the boo's get even louder but so do the cheers. Cory begins making his way down the ramp towards the ring.
Cliff Morris: We'll see Chevy defending that championship later tonight against Nick Danger!
Logan Acker: I can't wait, you know Chevy's gonna be looking to redeem his loss last week after a fantastic match with Mark Storm! Let's see what he has to say about it.
Chevelle hops up to the apron and enters the ring where he receives a microphone. The music dies down, and Chevy looks around at the Baltimore crowd. Slowly, he raises the mic and looks dead straight into the camera.
"I don't care what anybody says, Mark Storm earned that one and my hats off to the sumbitch. Now..."
Chevelle turns to eastern side of the arena.
"Getting down to business for tonight, right here in miserable lil Baltimore.."
boo's and jeering ensue.
"Nick Danger! I hope you're wearing your brown trunks tonight because you are gonna sh[DJ SCRATCH] your pants before I'm done with ya!"
Cliff Morris: The always so colorful language of Cory Chevelle..
Logan Acker: He makes no bones about anything, that's for sure.
Chevelle steps around in a circle inside the ring as the crowd's booing intensifies. He smiles, running his fingers through his beard then adjusts the UWL Television Championship on his left shoulder.
"Oh get over it! First off, this match should be the main event! Someone explain to me why isn't it.. nevermind I'll tell you simple folk!"
"Because Nick Danger is in it."
Logan Acker: oh come on! That was just uncalled for!
Cliff Morris: You said it earlier, Cory Chevelle makes no bones about anything.
"The fact is Nick, it doesn't matter who you've beaten or what you've done. You and I aren't in the same league and frankly I'm a little disappointed but I'm also thankful because if I had to wrestle Mark Storm again, I probably would have called and told Jay Jefferson I'm not coming in. But I got you. I'm sorry but..."
Who the hell are you!?"
The playful smile on Chevy's face disappears as the camera zooms in on his face. His cold blue eyes and the scowl on his face, giving a stone cold stare before raising the mic back up and continuing.
"Let me make this clear to all of you, and you especially, Nick. This championship I carry, this title right here on my shoulder, it's not the second best, it's not the up and comer championship. This belt has had wars take place over it, many of which I was in. More so than any other champion in the history past or present. That's why I'm in the record books, because I defended and carried this championship for over a year! A streak so great it rivaled Caleb Hart's reign as the UWL Triple Crown champion. What do you know about the kind of fortitude and drive, Nick?"
"Not a God damn thing."
"But I suppose your ass is gonna come on here talking that crap about this being your night, how you deserve this and how me losing to Storm proves I'm human and there's a chunk in the armor..."
"Wrong boy."
Chevy tips his hat back and leans on the ropes facing the ramp.
Cliff Morris: Chevelle doesn't lose often and history does suggest, he's never lost two matches in a row here in UWL.
Logan Acker: Nick Danger is in for the biggest fight of his life and I have a feeling that's what Chevy's getting at.
"Nick. For as talented as you may be. It's not enough. For as determined as you might be when walking down to this ring.. it's not enough.. Your goal is becoming the next UWL Television Champion. My vision as UWL Television Champion, is to go on and compete until I have all championship belts on me and forming something truly bigger and more spectacular, more so than the Triple Crown even. And I wanna see anyone, be they on the roster or from the office try and tell me I can't! Because I'm here to show ya ladies and gentlemen; Cory Chevelle can and he will!"
The crowd begins booing and jeering but some cheers are heard rising. The arena is so loud Hugh and Logan can barely hear each other or be heard.
Cliff Morris: This crowd can't make up their minds tonight.
Logan Acker: That's because people love to hate this man, but regardless whether they're booing him or cheering him, the fans respect this man. Everyone loves a man with vision.
Chevelle's pushes himself off the ropes. And tips his hat back down.
"Nick Danger.."
"You ain't ready. But regardless, Welcome to Silverback Country son."
Chevelle's music hits and the show cuts to commercial.

*The scene fades into a dark room with a single bulb shining just a bit of light over a chair. In walks the UWL World Champion, Daron Smythe, world title belt slung over shoulder, wearing the sweat from his second of three workouts that day. Smythe saunters to the chair, takes a seat, and stares directly into the camera*
DARON: "DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE" - those words, shouted into a microphone by the iconic Flavor Flav, were first heard on the airwaves on June 1st, 1988, as Flav, alongside Chuck D in Public Enemy, were lashing back at critics who were trying to mislabel them. For a long time I took the criticism and critiques of my peers and internalized them, fueling my rage to get through that next workout. But now, at the top of the heap, what do you do? I can't lie to myself. Kirby Smart was able to convince his heavily favored Georgia Bulldogs that they were being doubted by the media and to block out all outside influences otherwise. Can I do that to myself?
*Daron takes a swig of water, wipes his mouth, takes a deep breath, and continues*
DARON: It's so much easier when you are fighting for the top spot. You get to lob your single grenade at the champ. But when you're the champ? Those grenades are coming from all directions. Try as you might, you can't deflect them all. In pro wrestling, sometimes people are better chasers than champions. I saw it in my youth - it was fun watching the Ultimate Warrior steamroll everyone en route to becoming WWF Champion. When he finally won the title? Not so much. Maybe that's what's holding me back right now. Maybe that's why deep down a part of me fears the success - what do you do when you no longer have an boogeyman, real or imaginary, to rage against?
*Daron sits back in his chair, looking as if he's contemplating life, takes a long look at the ceiling, sighs, and goes on....*
DARON: The biggest thing I feared about obtaining success? Getting soft. And that's what happened to me - that rage burned in me for over a decade and I've spent the past year pouring out my heart in the gym, in the ring, on the microphone, desperately clawing towards the top, any obstacles in my way a clear sign that "the man" was out to get me once again. I'd save the letters PTSD for someone who earned them serving our country, but I definitely feel like that rug could be pulled out from under me at any minute. I feel like there are those forces - Maybe real? Maybe imagined? Working against me.
*Daron reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small card, looks it over for a moment, smiles to himself, then holds it up to the camera*
DARON: This, David Carroll, is St. Ladislaus, patron saint of my home church back in Wheeling. A beacon of light for those old Hungarians and Pollocks who fled Europe looking for a better life in America. My grandmother gave this card to me before she passed away, given to her by her mother, and I've kept it on me ever since. He fought off the heathens, side by side, serving as King and infantryman. He was considered chivalrous by his people. He led by example. He wouldn't ask his people to do anything he wouldn't do himself, which is something I have immense respect for.
David, I don't feel the need to push my beliefs on anyone. Maybe you feel like you're some sort of vessel of God, but you are not the one to be judge, let alone jury or executioner. Perhaps you are feeding yourself this to strengthen yourself - much like I have done with all the thoughts of doubt, but when I look at you I can't and don't see someone pure. I see a man, like my father, like Father Ron Prectyl, like so many others, destined to disappoint those who put their faith in him. I'm doing this because I believe I am #1. I'm not working out three times a day to control and manipulate anyone, hell, I hate that I even said that out loud. You are doing this to obtain power and you know how the saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Something about the name Coronation Cup and you holding it sends a shiver down my spine. You got me this time, but don't forget, I pinned you to earn the right to get this *taps belt on shoulder*.
This brings me to you, Billy Danielson. Beating Anthony Cross was sweet, but everyone knows there's something missing, something that will validate this title reign as one of the greatest ever. I thought I had you before, but there's a thin line between real belief and bravado. I was hyping myself up after the Universal Stampede, I felt invincible. It's incredible how life can humble you when you get too high. Maybe you just went through some of the same - what do they call it? Hard times? I can say with all confidence that I'm way more prepared this time. I'm ready. I hope you are, too.
*Daron snaps his fingers and the picture quickly cuts to black*
