? ? ? - Around and around we go.
We open on the Heritage Championship. It’s the centerpiece to a room filled to the brim with championships from other companies. In the light, the Heritage Championship gives an added air of prestige to the room as the man on the nameplate walks up.
Billy Danielson - “Here we are again, Jackson. I brought up a few weeks ago that we have slowly become a storied rivalry. One that will inevitably define this era in the Universal Wrestling League. We are adding to the Heritage of this company, and more importantly, the Heritage of this…”
Billy taps the Heritage Championship.
Billy Danielson - “A few weeks ago you told me you had more fight in you, and I told you that I had your number. In some ways we were both right huh?”
Danielson laughs a bit. He looks around at the different UWL and affiliate championships, then back to the Heritage Championship. The journeys he’s been on to make it to the point where he can claim to be a proper Triple Crown Champion, and how Jackson has been there to test him numerous times along the way.
Billy Danielson - “So, what is it going to be this time, Jackson? That little reserve you have still has some gas in it? That you’re coming back for what’s yours? Are you bringing a storm that you couldn’t even predict, Weatherman? What’s the pep-talk you’re gonna give yourself that helps you get to that point we all know and love?”
He pauses for a moment, just staring at his newly won championship.
Billy Danielson - “Honestly, this is the one match at the Anniversary Show that I don’t think anyone can predict. Not even us. We’re so evenly matched when it comes to our track record, it’s hard to say who is gonna pull ahead.”
There’s a flicker of excitement in his eyes as he chuckles again.
Billy Danielson - “But it’s that kind of thing that makes this industry so exciting for men like you and I. We walk into so many matches where are so positive that we’re gonna win that the only way others can make their name off of us, is with a low blow or from the help of others. When men of our caliber face off against each other, and the only guarantee is that the fans will be on their feet the entire time. It’s special.”
Danielson grabs the Heritage Championship and throws it over his shoulder.
Billy Danielson - “Let it never be mistaken, Jackson. I respect the hell out of you, and what we do in that ring together every single time we step into it.”
He points to the championship and smirks.
Billy Danielson - “But THIS is more special than what we do in the ring. THIS is years and years of hard work, stacked upon the names of the all-times that came before us. THIS is the crown of the workhorse. THIS is something that is not leaving my side any time soon.”
He takes a deep breath.
Billy Danielson - “It’s going to be a challenge though. It’s always a challenge with you. That’s why I hope you bring everything this time, because I didn’t get the best of you last time. You were broken and tired, I acknowledge that. I know that. You lost a world title match. you had BRADDOCK, Jenna and myself on your mind all at once. You spent the summer being a double champion, and I picked the bones of a great run.”
Billy throws a finger up to stop any confusion, without breaking his verbal stride.
Billy Danielson - “I’m not knocking you or underestimating you though. Now, you’ve had time to clear your plate and recover. You’ve had time to prep and strategize now. You’ve had time to become the menace we all know you to be. I hope you bring that comeback story attitude and that one last dance mindset. I hope you are 100% back to your best, because I am beating you in Philly on the 11th and I want zero excuses.”
Danielson takes a moment as he stares into the camera with a calm confidence.
Billy Danielson - I am walking out of the Liacouras Center the same way as I walked in, as the Heritage Champion, because in the end Jackson, when everything counts the most and the cards are all on the table, I beat you. It’ll be a war. It’ll be one of the hardest wins of my whole damn career here, maybe even rivaling my win over Caleb Hart, but I WILL beat you. I will beat you. I will.
Determination and grit in the eyes of the champion as the scene closes out. Jackson Burnside has always been one of Billy’s toughest tests, but he could feel deep down that this was going to be another win for him. He was going to beat a rejuvenated Jackson Burnside, because this was going to be one of those moments that helps cement his legacy as the Greatest of All Time and The Franchise of the UWL. All he had to do was win.
