Eruption is here, and in the main event, we have a match nearly a decade in the making. Billy Danielson defended his UWL Heritage Championship against long-time rival and mentor, Robert Daniels. Billy had been waiting for this match for a long, long time, and though he wasn’t too keen on putting his championship on the line for what he felt was a pure grudge match, he also wasn’t upset. Whatever it would have taken to finally get Robb in the ring with Billy under his terms.
We open to Billy in front of a UWL banner, and though he is staring off into space, he is ready for his big match tonight. He had one arm wrapped around his UWL Heritage Championship as it rested on his shoulder.
Billy Danielson -“It’s like I’m staring at a mirage.”
He uses his free hand to motion at the seemingly imaginary image in front of him.
Billy Danielson - “I’ve waited for this opportunity for so long. Years of essentially ‘hit and runs’.”
Billy pauses, thinking not only about the incidents that have happened here in the UWL over his last 4 years in the company but also in Mainstream Wrestling and Billy’s initial run with UWL.
Billy Danielson - “Robb Daniels comes in, costs me titles or opportunities, and runs away.”
You can see him getting more upset as he continues.
Billy Danielson - “So many times I was supposed to be rid of him. So many times I was supposed to get my lick back.”
His free hand starts to turn into a fist, but he knows he can’t dig that deep into his anger yet, so he tries to be optimistic and move on a bit, but it clearly something he’s eager to unleash.
Billy Danielson - “Now it’s here. Today is the day. I have him in a match for my Heritage Champion, and I’m just sitting here waiting for him to disappear like he always does. I almost don’t believe he’ll show up, but I have a sneaking suspicion this isn’t like all those times.”
Billy smirks.
Billy Danielson - “No, I think tonight I’m finally going to get what I’ve been asking for.”
The UWL Heritage Champion shakes his fist in the air, excited for what was about to come tonight.
Billy Danielson - “I think Robb Daniels has finally run out of escape routes, and he’s about to come face to face with nearly a decade of pent-up resentment.”
Again, Billy starts to think about everything Robert Daniels has done to him. Anger-inducing memories run through his mind as he tries to keep himself composed.
Billy Danielson - “After all, we’re talking about a man who has claimed ownership of every career achievement I’ve ever had, whether he was ‘involved’ or not. We’re also talking about a man who recruited me into his company, did everything in his power to bury me, and I succeeded despite him, setting every record Mainstream Wrestling ever had.”
Danielson point to his temple.
Billy Danielson - “And I have a mind like a steel trap, so I haven’t forgotten a single thing this man has done to me.”
He laughs a bit under his breath as he shakes his head, knowing that he is going to use all these old memories as his motivation to inflict as much pain on Robert.
Billy Danielson - “But now it’s time to repay Robb Daniels for all that trouble.”
Billy shakes his fist to emphasize his call for a fight, whether in the ring or not.
Billy Danielson - “Now it’s time to show him that this ‘monster he created’ is so much more than he could have ever been. I’m going to remind him why he couldn’t steamroll me my rookie year like he thought he could. Then I’m gonna show him why he couldn’t book me into a career change like he tried for so many years. Most importantly, though…”
He raises his UWL Heritage Championship as high as he can, as if showing Robert what he will never get to hold so long as Billy was alive.
Billy Danielson - “I’m going to show him why I will remain the UWL’s Heritage Champion!”
The crowd can be heard in the background getting just as excited as Danielson because they want to see Robert Daniels get his just desserts nearly as bad as Billy wants to serve it to him.
Billy Danielson - “And there is nothing Robb will be able to do about it this time!
Danielson smirks at the camera and raises his championship one last time, excited to come to this spot after his match and still have his Heritage Championship Belt on hand. Just the thought of beating on Robert Daniels was good enough to put a pep in his step, and we see just that as he walks away
