Now we see the moments following a savage beating at the hands of Cory Chevelle. Jackson Burnside is sitting in the back of an ambulance getting cleaned up and looked at by some paramedics. He's bandaged and stitched up in the wake of Cory Chevelle's vulgar display of power as Eruption went off the air. The camera pans back a little more as the paramedics run some on the scene concussion protocol on Burnside. They have him following a light, recite a few things, you know the deal by now. Upon finishing the paramedic hands Burnside an ice pack. The Weatherman brings it up to a large bruise on the side of his head.
Paramedic:
"Hang tight big guy. You seem alright, we just want to speak with the on-site doctor. See if he thinks we should bring you in. If he agrees you can get home and get some sleep tonight alright?"
The paramedic reassuringly pats Burnside on the leg and walks off. Burnside mutters under his breath and winces. The camera angle changes to something less natural, and much more cinematic. Nw we're seeing Burnside from behind, as though the camera is inside the ambulance itself filming outward. Due to the lack of lighting and the late hour we can't see much of anything beyond the open door's of the ambulance. Jackson doesn't notice a silhouetted figure enter the shot from the side of the ambulance. The figure hangs there for a few seconds, leaning against the side of the ambulance and partially obscured by the doors. We can't make out details, only that assuredly a male of decent height with short hair, and wearing a suit or perhaps heavy coat.
Figure;
"You look worse for the wear, Mr. Burnside."
The man's voice is heavy and grainy. Like somebody who's been smoking 2 packs a day for several decades. Like Harvey Fierstein crossed with Solid Snake. A voice you hear once and don't foget. Burnside looks up. The camera cuts over to the original shot, now zoomed in on Burnside's face. He's confused, is he concussed after all and seeing things? Why is that light so damn bright? The camera reverts back to the shot from within the ambulance.
Figure:
"I think that big ape is right. Does Jackson Burnside take this lying down? Are you missing your nuts? I think you should remind him that you're still here, you won Universal Stampede and you're coming for the World Title."
The paramedic returns.
Paramedic:
"Excuse me, who are you? You can't be here."
Figure;
"My apologies. I was just on my way."
The figure casually backs away from the door and disappears into the night. The paramedic looks on with a suspicious gaze before turning his attention to the man in the ambulance.
Paramedic:
"You're all clear. Let's get you up and outta here, but call an ambulence or head to a hospital if you don't feel right later tonight or over the next few days. Alright?"
The paramedic extends his hand. He helps Jackson up and out of the ambulance. Burnside holds his ribs and winces as he steps down onto the sold ground. He looks off in the direction his mysterous visitor went, but only sees an empty parking lot.
