The team of Cyrus Rinaldi and Vulgar Display of Power are standing behind a UWL Eruption banner backstage. All three men are holding their respective championships on their shoulders. Cyrus looks pumped for the main event while Vulgar Display of Power look coldly into the camera.
Cyrus Rinaldi: You know, I’m not ashamed to admit when I’ve been proven wrong.
He points to BRADDOCK.
Cyrus Rinaldi: A few months ago, I stood on this program and called this man the Jannetty of Vulgar Display of Power. Well, at Under Pressure, he showed me he was anything but a Jannetty, and now he stands before me as one-half of the Tag Team Champions. I’m proud to stand on the same side as him tonight in the main event.
He turns to Cory Chevelle.
Cyrus Rinaldi: Another man I’m proud to stand beside is the other half of Vulgar Display of Power and the other half of the Tag Team Champions, the former World Heavyweight Champion, “The Silverback” Cory Chevelle.
You see, I’ve run down a lot of people in my time here in UWL but one man I’ve gone out of my way to NOT run down is Mr. Chevelle. You know why? Because I've always respected him. I respected him before I even signed to UWL. I respect his accomplishments, I respect the way he carries himself, and I respect his authenticity.
There aren’t a lot of people in the wrestling business that are authentic. People are always stabbing you in the back. Promotors lie so they don’t have to fork over as much dough as you’re worth. Nobody’s honest.
Except us.
The three of us tell it like it is. We don’t try to sugarcoat anything. We don’t try to say anything to get the crowd to like us. We say what we mean and we do things the way we want to do them. We don’t give any consideration to what anyone thinks about us.
Why does any of that matter? Because when I say that I respect these men and are proud to stand beside them, they know that I’m telling the truth. When Cory Chevelle gets on social media and says that he believes I was robbed of the World Heavyweight Championship, I know he’s not just saying it to make me feel better. I know he means it.
The trust that the three of us have in each other creates an impenetrable bond, a bond that is stronger than steel!
The three of you on the other side of the ring tonight, you don’t have that bond. No, no, no. It was only three short months ago that Daron Smythe pinned one of his partners, Billy Danielson, to become the World Heavyweight Champion. And it was only two short months ago that Daron superkicked Jackson Burnside out of the ring right before he climbed the ladder and retained his title.
They haven’t forgotten those moments. On the contrary, they think about those moments every day and night. I would know, because ever since Under Pressure, I’ve been thinking about Daron pinning me, too, despite my foot being on the ropes, and it makes me f---ing crazy. So imagine how Danielson and Burnside must feel, having to live with the memories of Smythe denying their dreams for MONTHS.
And hey, Daron keeps going on about how he never lost the Television Championship. Now, he must stand beside a man who carries that Television Title that he never truly lost. You think Burnside doesn’t feel a little wary about being on the same team with a man who covets his gold? Hmm. It kind of muddies the water. What do you think, guys?
Chevelle and BRADDOCK nod their heads.
Cyrus Rinaldi: Burnside and Danielson won’t be standing beside you tonight, Daron. No way. They’re going to be standing just a few feet behind you so that when the time is right, they can stab you in the back.
And you know what? If they take you out, they’ll be doing a service to this promotion because you don’t deserve to be the World Heavyweight Champion. You don’t deserve to be in UWL. You don’t deserve to be in professional wrestling. I don’t care what you’ve done or what you’ve accomplished. The way I see it, you should have never been given the chance to do any of that anyway. You should still be back in West Virginia, teaching a bunch of toothless, braindead, snot-nosed punks who aren’t going to amount to much no matter what you teach them.
But hey, I don’t offer the contracts around here. I just show up and fulfill the ones I sign, and I signed one to be in this match tonight because I trust Vulgar Display of Power and I know the three of us are going to run roughshod over that shaky, unstable alliance on the other side of the ring.
He turns to Chevelle.
Cyrus Rinaldi: Tell em’, Big Man!
Chevelle looks at Cyrus and grins as he steps in, taking center stage in front of the camera. Holding the UWL Tag team championship over his shoulder proudly, he looks into the camera while scratching his beard for a second and begins.
Cory Chevelle: How can you not be a fan of this kid, am I right?
Chevelle turns to Braddock who nods along and then he turns back to the camera.
Cory Chevelle: UWL... Tonight's a special night. Tonight, in the main event, not only do you have all major champions in one match but you have the very best of the best within UWL!
Chevelle pauses momentarily then nods with meaning after what he just said.
Cory Chevelle: Ashville, I can feel your excitement already. I can hear you chanting for Smythe, Billy Goat, and/or The Weatherman... your beloved heroes. But I want you to know something Ashville, tonight, your heroes will fall. Why? Well that's just it. Because our why is greater than theirs!
Smythe I know yer riding high right now. I know you think you beat Cyrus and successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship. But from what we saw... MmmmIdunno. Cyrus had his foot on the ropes. You didn't beat him. This kid still had fight in him and took you to your limits! Had the ref been paying attention or done his job right I think we'd of seen ourselves a new world champ that night. But, sadly that's not what went down.
You walk around here claiming you're the man who's carried UWL for the last two years and to that I call BULLSHIT! What about your partners? What about the very man who beat you last year and showed you your true place? Of course I'm referring to myself...
Chevy smiles and winks at the camera.
Cory Chevelle: Hell even the little people who I'm not naming. But you really believe you're the man who's carrying UWL...
Chevelle tips his cowboy hat up and straightened his posture, shaking his head.
Cory Chevelle: Nah. Not in the slightest, champ. I know heavy is the crown but... You really shouldn't let it go to your head. Hell I did and that's how I lost the World Title. But hey don't listen to me. Daron, you and I have sold out arena after arena fighting each other! I know you. And I think with a few pointers this kid will have your number and tonight is gonna be an example of that. The thing is even though you're partnered up with Billy Danielson and Jackson Burnside... You don't really have a team you can trust, do you? How can you when you're on top of the world. How can such massive egos ever co-exist?
Fact of the matter is I've been in the ring with all three of ya and beaten your asses more times than you've whipped mine. The fact of the matter is this match is a tag team match and in case you didn't notice, that's Vulgar Display of Power's forte. Tonight we begin the road to #justice4cyrus, boys. And The Silverback is gonna remind you of one other thing... Welcome to Silverback Country. BRADDOCK?
Braddock pops open a cold PBR and takes a drink, then looks into the camera.
Braddock: Fu[DJ scratch] all you pansy ass bitches! I ain't got nothin to say to em!
Rinaldi laughs and puts his arms around each man's neck.
Cyrus Rinaldi: Couldn't have said it better myself! Smythe, Burnside, Danielson, we are the reality of this business, and you three are in for the biggest reality check of your lives!
Cory Chevelle: We'll see ya in the ring boys.
Cyrus Rinaldi: You know, I’m not ashamed to admit when I’ve been proven wrong.
He points to BRADDOCK.
