Following a series of shows for the UWL Coronation Cup, Jackson Burnside appeared on the 'Turnbuckle Talks' podcast on April 9th. Burnside appeared on the show for about forty-five minutes and was not officially representing ROA as the Champion, or in any capacity as a wrestler. However the podcast, which is simulcast as a YouTube livestream, had some questions for the ROA Champion in the form of Superchats from users. Jackson recieved a few questions regarding the ROA re-branding, and made the following comments:
Jackson Burnside:
"So, you know to me at the end of the day, a name is just a name right? Jim Crockett Productions became WCW. World Wrestling Federation became the WWE. Total Nonstop Action became Impact, and you can go on and on with this sort of thing. It's the ebb and flow of the industry, and sometimes a rebrand is important to uh, to jumpstart those batteries. Right now the ball is just getting rolling. We've got the Coronation Cup right now, and we've had some really great, badass shows already. People are loving it - if you really want to see what ROA means you've got to hit a live show. Right now, on TV it just comes across as the old show. More of those changings are coming, but if you want to feel them right now, go to a show. UWL is gonna be big, it's gonna me something exciting and I'm real excited to be a part of it."
Burnside spoke candidly about the rebranding, not a "brother" in sight as he relayed his excitement over what's to come. The ROA Champion was presented questions regarding the Coronation Cup and his future as ROA Champion, but answers were brief and amounted to "watch and see."
The 2022 Coronation Cup will wrap up on April 16th, with the semi-finalists consisting of Burnside, Horizon Champion Billy Danielson, Rock Stone, and Heritage Champion Caleb Hart.
You can listen the full interview on the 'Turnbuckle Talks' website. During his brief appearance Burnside also discussed body-building and networking tips for new wrestlers starting out.
