Jackson Burnside was spotted over the weekend at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on a return trip from the UK. After returning from the terminal, the former World Champion took some time to speak with fans at baggage claim. Although it was a relatively small crowd for the hometown hero, there were some phone cameras turned onto him. Burnside used this opportunity to promote UWL Power Surge. Notably, the following clip was posted online when asked about the upcoming Tennessee Chain Match.
The footage from the camera plays. It's grainy and the lightning is far from prefect. Most egregiously, the person holding the phone recorded in landscape, which adds a lot of dead space when flipped to portrait. Burnside appears to be in baggage claim. He looks quite different, sporting a bushy yellow and brown beard, and a small pair of circular sunglasses. Generally speaking he looks tired from his cross-Atlantic flight.
Jackson Burnside:
"What's that about Caleb Hart?" It's hard to hear him over all the crowd noise. This upload of the recording attempts at adding subtitles. "Let me tell you about Caleb Hart brother!" A cheer from the people crowding around Burnside. "Caleb doesn't know he's got coming dude! I grew up fighting in these streets, here in Chi-Town! I fought some punk right outside Terminal A once, tried to steal my Nikes and Orange Julius! I broke that punk's nose and gave him the drink anyways, poured it right over his head! Now Caleb-" Jackson is interrupted by a stranger pushing by him to get a bag off the conveyer belt. "Caleb already came in and took my supper! We don't stand for that in Chicago! I'm gonna fly down to Knoxville, chain myself to that sorry SOB, and then beat him down and take back what he took from me. Jackson Burnside is done playing games, the Superbeast from Chicago East is unchained!"
The video continues to play after that, but the rest is largely unintelligible as more people try to reach their luggage. Eventually people have pushed themselves between the camera and Burnside, the the person stopped recording.
Reportedly, this is just one in a number of candid promos Jackson Burnside has been making in public. Burnside has not had as many opportunities to hype up Power Surge on 9/3 in official media spots, and appears to be taking advantage of any camera being put in his face. UWL's resident Superbeast has the biggest match of his career against Caleb Hart; his final bid to reclaim the UWL World Championship. It seems that media or no media, Burnside is determined to throw down the gauntlet and trash talk the current Champion at any given opportunity.
It would not be surprising if more candid videos of Burnside emerge over the next week, now that it's clear the former Champion is receptive to candid public moments to take digs at Caleb Hart.
