Camera fades into the backstage area where Abby Joseph is making her way into the men's locker room...
Abby Joseph: UWL Galaxy, we are backstage just after Eruption and we are talking to all four combatants in tonight's main event. First, we have #1 Daron Smythe...
Abby walks up to Daron, who is parked on a bench, slowly untying his boot laces...
Abby Joseph: Daron, tonight was your very first UWL main event, a hard fought battle where you were eliminated simultaneously with the new UWL Television Champion, Nick Danger. How are you feeling?
Daron Smythe: Abby, I feel several ways...first, I'm exactly where I belong, in the main event. You know, I'm happy I was there but I'm pissed off at the end result. I've been watching Caleb Hart - there's no doubt he's on top of his game right now, but I thought Jackson Burnside had his number. Yet, somehow Caleb came out on top. I know he's got the talent, but is he good? Or just really lucky?
Abby Joseph: Daron, are you really implying that one of the greatest of all time is...lucky?!
Daron Smythe: Listen Abby, I'm new here - and while I still have to prove myself to this office, this fanbase, hell, even people like you, I don't have this preconceived notion about anyone. I get the hero worship. Everyone in wrestling is always looking for the next big thing. But, it ain't for me. I may have some ring rust to work off but I'll tell you this, I am on a collision course for that UWL World Championship - the only variable is time.
Abby Joseph: I still can't get over you saying that Caleb Hart is...lucky.
Daron Smythe: Let's not pretend like luck doesn't play a part around here - speaking of luck, look at the guy I was eliminated with, the new Television Champion, Nick Danger. Let's be real for a moment - would Nick Danger even be the Television Champion right now if it weren't for luck? Hell, he didn't even pin the champion! And, you can tell it bothers him. He even said so out loud tonight. I'd hate to call him a paper champion, but you have to admit it, if not for Robb Daniels, would he even be the Television Champion?
Abby Joseph: Uhhh...
Daron Smythe: Your answer...or lack thereof, speaks a thousand words. Robb Daniels is on a hot streak right now and it looks like he's trying to make Billy Danielson's life a living hell. Nick Danger just happens to be the beneficiary of a happy...accident.
Abby Joseph: One that that's no accident is your reaction to being eliminated from the main event...
Daron Smythe: It's no over reaction, Abby. That dude caught me in a moment of desperation. I thought he was out and he caught me off guard. Like I said before, I'm not a guy who is going to be awe of anyone here, whether they've been here ten days or ten years. I already had my eyes on that Television Title, but what Nick did made this a personal issue. I wanted to grab that championship as a stepping stone towards an eventual world title run. In my mind, it was just business, but now it's personal...
Abby Joseph: It's just been announced that on the next Eruption, you will finally go one on one with the Heritage Champion, Anthony Cross.
Daron Smythe: Let's call a spade a spade here, Abby. Anthony is in the spot he's in because he's Caleb Hart's best friend. I mean, after the way things have been going lately, is that even up for debate?
Abby Joseph: You sure seem to have it out for the top stars of UWL and the UWL?!
Daron Smythe: Oh, come on Abby. You and I have both have eyes. What exactly has Anthony done lately? He's been picking against me since day 1 here and now he's finally going to get the chance to see what he's been picking against. Maybe it means nothing to him. But, it means everything to me. I'm so tired of being doubted. At this point, people have seen exactly what I'm capable of. I've got two weeks now to rest, train, and prepare for this match. Like I said before, the world is mine. The only variable is time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm ready to get the hell out of here and go home...
Abby Joseph: It sounds like we are all done here! I'm Abby Joseph and next, I'll try to get a word with Nick Danger...
Daron Smythe: Please tell him I hope he feels better soon. Also, tell him to shine MY title belt up real nice, because I'm coming for it!
