As human beings, do we desire to be great or to do something great? What is most important? When we spend our lives comparing ourselves to others, we will always find shortcomings. When we motivate ourselves, we can be our own worst enemy. Satisfaction is the death of desire. I once did that. I built a decent life. I thought I was about to become a family man. So, I changed my entire mindset. After giving myself to the business for five years just scratching and clawing for that break, I took Rochelle's impending pregnancy as a sign from up above - a sign that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I turned that switch off inside my head. Now, I'm learning that's it not as easy to switch it back on. I'm here again, inside of those same four walls. Inside of those same four corners. That building that I helped build...
BUMP. GET UP. BUMP. GET UP. BUMP. GET UP. It never gets easier. But then...
Jim Miller: *swinging the door open wildly* Just what in the hell do you think you're doing here, in MY building?! AGAIN?!
Daron Smythe: How quickly you forget how much time I've put into this place. See that part of the roof? *points to the ceiling* Was your fat @$$ crawling up their to fix the hole in the roof when it was wide open and dirty rain water kept dripping on the ring and the fans? Or over there *points to a side wall*, when I built that wall to block off the section of that building where you hid all those rich people's boats and crap. You think I don't know what this building was really used for? Don't preach to me. I built this place.
Jim Miller: You ungrateful son of a...
Daron Smythe: ME?! UNGRATEFUL?! I killed myself for this place and for what? For you to get your daughter to lie to me so I wouldn't leave? Jimbo let me know. He might be the only decent one left in your rotten family... *Daron slides out of the ring and grabs his towel, heading for the exit*
Jim Miller: I saw you lose...AGAIN...the other night. You're a has been. Even worse! You're a never was! You're worthless, and you'll never be anything in this business!
Daron Smythe: I was ready a long time ago and I would've had those big time paychecks 15 damn years ago if not for you. It's going to take some time, but I promise you, my destiny is to be the World Champion, the only variable is time. But first, I'm getting that Television title. *Daron heads for the exit but not before throwing his sweaty towel on Jim's face*
Jim Miller: *violently shaking and trying to throw the towel off of his face* Don't you ever come back here!
Daron Smythe: Next time, I'll make sure it's a time I know you're passed out drunk on your couch...
