UWL Eruption 3-4-23

The picture cuts across the arena and cuts to the ring.



Emily Lyle - The following contest is set for one fall with a fifteen minute time limit!

Cliff Morris - We’re ready to kick off the action here tonight at Eruption with a contest that promises to be a good one, between Blair Carter and Bellamy Huxley!

The bell sounds as both competitors move from their corners and slowly circle around one another, moving into a collar and elbow tie-up. Carter takes Huxley into a side headlock; she clutches her arms around her head with a huge smile across her face. Huxley goes to send Carter off, but she manages to hold onto the headlock. Carter locks her arms tight, as she holds onto the headlock. Huxley walks Carter into the ropes, and she manages to send Carter off. Carter runs into the ropes; she bounces off the ropes, running back at Huxley; she leapfrogs over Carter as she runs back into the ropes and back off. Carter runs back at Huxley, and she nails Carter with a spinning back fist, which staggers her. Huxley grabs her around the head, and she plants her down with a neckbreaker. Huxley rises to her feet; she stands over Carter; and as she lays flat on her back on the mat, she jumps into the air for a standing moonsault, but Carter manages to raise her knees as Huxley crumbles onto the mat.

Cliff Morris - These two are leaving it all in the ring!

Carter pulls Huxley up off the mat as she does a fist pump and lands a hard right hand, which sends Huxley falling into the ropes. Carter kicks her in the side with a hard kick as she crumbles against the ropes. Carter pulls Huxley away from the ropes, leaning her over and grabbing her around her head. She lifts her up and plants her with a vertical suplex. Carter turns the covering sheet as the referee counts.

Carter rises to her feet, she sends Huxley hard into the corner, and she lays against the turnbuckles. Carter does a small moonwalk as she runs across the ring, but Huxley dodges out of the way as Carter slams into the turnbuckles. Huxley turns Carter around; she leans her over, grabbing her around her head, and she lands a hard hitting European uppercut. She grabs Carter around her head and runs into the ropes, kicking off the planting of Carter with a springboard DDT. Carter lays on the mat as Huxley stands over her, dropping down onto her with a seated son. Huxley turns, pulling Carter’s leg up for the pin as the referee counts.

Huxley wraps her legs around Carter's neck, locking her into a headscissors choke. She locks her legs together as Carter tries to get free but just can't break free. Huxley locks her on tight as the referee clucks on Carter, but she doesn't give up. Huxley locks her legs tight around her head, and as Carter rushes out, grabbing for the ropes, and as the referee calls for a break, Huxley breaks the hold. She rises to her feet as Carter slowly rises to her feet, and she lands a hard kick to the side of her leg that stuns her. She whips Carter into the ropes, and Carter holds onto the ropes as Huxley flips over, landing on her feet. As Carter charges at her, she nails her with a reverse DDT. Huxley covers her, as the referee counts.

Huxley rises to her feet as Carter rises. She runs at her for a clothesline, but she ducks under the clothesline attempt. Carter slides around behind Huxley; she locks her arms around herself, throwing her back with a German suplex with a bridge as the referee counts.

Carter pulls Huxley up to her feet. She grabs her around her head, but Huxley blocks it. She takes her over quickly into a Small Package, the referee counts.

Emily Lyle - The winner of this match Bellamy Huxley!!

The show cuts to a break.

We open up to Abbey Joseph standing backstage with a big smile on her face. A huge UWL Banner is situated behind her, which means only one thing…

Abby Joseph - Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome at this time former UWL World Champion, Billy Danielson.

Danielson walks up, but he isn’t his usual confident self. He’s got a black hoodie on that’s shading his face. Instead of a cocky smirk, Billy is just stone-faced. Abby looks at him up and down, realizing that this probably won’t be as successful of an interview as she had originally thought.

Abby Joseph - Billy, two weeks ago you lost the UWL World Championship to Anthony Cross in a shocking upset to many. Any comments on that match or how it went down?

Danielson just stares at her for a moment.

Billy Danielson - I lost. What more is there to say?

Abby looks disappointed in that answer as she tries to pull more information from the callus former champion.

Abby Joseph - Well, earlier that night you had said-

Billy Danielson - Earlier that night I had said I caught myself being prideful, and that’s what happened. My pride got the best of me. I allowed that has-been hack, Robert Daniels, to distract me. I dropped my focus on an opponent I deemed less than me, because I allowed my pride to take over.

A bit of a smile comes from Abby’s face as she presses on.

Abby Joseph - Do you have anything you’d like to say to Enforcer going into your rematch? Or to the UWL Legacy Champion, Robert Daniels?

Billy Danielson - Not really. Anthony Cross is a master opportunist, that’s why he’s champion and I’m not. Robert Daniels is the only mentor to be in his protege’s shadow, that’s why he stole the concept for my Mainstream Legacy Championship and is using it here to taunt me. I’m not dumb. Neither one is going to allow me to know peace so long as I’m still standing, and that’s fine. I can play that game too.

Abby Joseph - Care to elaborate?

Billy just stares at her, clearly telling her no through body language.

Abby Joseph - Well then, let’s move on from two weeks ago. Any thoughts on your match tonight? Anything you’d like to say to Isaiah Hunter?

Danielson continues to stare at Abby for a moment.

Abby Joseph - Well it seems that’s all for thi-

Billy steps in front of her and turns to the camera.

Billy Danielson - Isaiah, it sucks to be you tonight. I hope you know it won’t be personal.

With that Danielson walks off without allowing Abby the opportunity to close the interview on her own terms. She tries to stop him, but he just shoves himself away. With a sigh, Abby turns to the camera and tries to fake a smile.

Abby Joseph - Back to you at commentary… I guess.

Camera fades in backstage at Eruption as Abby Joseph is standing backstage with Daron Smythe...

ABBY: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to UWL Eruption, I am Abby Joseph backstage and live here in Norfolk, Virginia and tonight, #1 Daron Smythe, the UWL Television Champion, takes on Craig Eaton, one on one. How are you feeling about your match tonight?

DARON: You know Abby, I feel bad for Craig Eaton. I honestly don't know a thing about the guy. But he, just Adrian O'Riley two weeks ago, is merely stepping into the ring as a punching bag. Craig Eaton is someone I am going to take my frustrations out on. I'm sure outside of the ring he is a very nice guy, but I have to refocus my mindset. I have to look at each opponent as an obstacle standing in the way of my destiny - my destiny to become UWL World Champion. I have taken a short detour on the road to my destination but make no mistake about it, my time will come.

ABBY: In just two short weeks at Access Denied, you will defend the UWL Television Championship against El Gran Galaxia - what do you think the outcome of that match will be?

DARON: I'd like to think of El Gran Galaxia the same way I'm thinking about Craig Eaton tonight - I don't know much if anything about him either. He's a guy who shows up to the building, puts on his gear, and wrestles. Two weeks ago, he beat another guy who shows up and wrestles. El Gran Galaxia's theme song is called Sucker For Pain and that's ironic, because he is going to experience the physical manifestation of my pain. I love having this belt right here, I love being the Television Champion, but a huge part of me can't help but be disappointed right now. It should be me defending the World Championship at Access Denied, but I can't get pulled down by wishes and hopes and dreams. I have to respond, not react.

ABBY: Speaking of that World Championship, and I know it might be a sore subject, but who do you think will come out on top when Anthony Cross defends against Billy Danielson?

DARON: When I think of Billy Danielson, it doesn't draw out a huge emotional response in me - while I don't like him personally, I respect what he's done. The path that I'm on - he's already finished that journey. When we went one on one, he was the better man that night. I can accept that. What I can't accept is Anthony *bleeping* Cross lucking in to yet another title and on top of that, the WORLD *bleeping* CHAMPIONSHIP!

*In a fit of rage, Daron stands up and throws his chairs behind him, crashing into the lockers. The sound causes Abby to jump backwards and hold her microphone at a distance*

DARON: WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS COMPANY? FIRST, NICK DANGER GETTING A LUCKY TELEVISION TITLE RUN, NOW THIS? ANTHONY *BLEEPING* CROSS - THE GUY WHO RODE CALEB HART'S COATTAILS HAS ALL THE PLANETS ALIGN FOR HIM TO BE WORLD *BLEEPING* CHAMPION?

*Abby sheepishly tries to interject*

ABBY: Daron, we are live on television, you can't...

DARON: I'M GETTING REAL SICK AND DAMN TIRED OF BEING TOLD I CAN'T DO THIS OR THAT WHILE PEOPLE LIKE ANTHONY CROSS GET HANDED EVERY LUCKY BREAK IN THE WORLD! THE UWL OFFICE CAN FINE ME, SUSPEND ME, WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO BUT THEY KNOW DEEP DOWN IN THEIR HEARTS THAT I AM THE STRAW THAT STIRS THE DRINK THAT I AM THE ONLY INTERESTING *BLEEP* DAMN PERSON AROUND HERE AND I'M WRESTLING SOME DOLLAR STORE LUCHADORE AT THE PAY-PER-VIEW. IT'S A *BLEEP* DAMN JOKE IS WHAT IT IS! '

I'M GOING TO TELL YOU THIS ABBY, I'M GOING TO BEAT THIS CRUMB BUM TONIGHT, I'M GOING TO STOMP EL GRAN GALAXIA INTO OBLIVION AND THEN I'M GOING TO GET BACK ON TRACK BECAUSE MY DESTINY IS TO BE THE UWL WORLD CHAMPION, THE ONLY VARIABLE IS THE MOTHER *BLEEPING* TIME!

*Daron storms out of the locker room as the camera fades to black*

Standing in front of his locker room is the new UWL World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Cross, with the World Title belt draped over his left shoulder.

“Enforcer” Anthony Cross: Over the last couple weeks since I have been overjoyed by recent events but I can tell many of you are still a bit skeptical. To be honest, why shouldn’t you? We all saw Robb Daniels get involved in the World Title match between Billy and I. Obviously I can’t say that I am upset with Robb considering I am now the new UWL World Heavyweight Champion!

Anthony pats the World title belt twice as a smirk comes over his face.

“Enforcer” Anthony Cross: So many of you are used to seeing me chasing after this very same championship belt that I am holding. So I can understand why this would be something big for you to get used to. But now the inevitable truth arrived as of February 18 it is now time for all of you to adjust to the new normal. Then in a couple weeks from tonight when both Billy and I emerge from that steel cage and I am still the UWL World Champion there will be no reason to be skeptical any longer.

Anthony pauses for a moment.

“Enforcer” Anthony Cross: Clearly I am very much looking forward to stepping into the cage with Billy in Philly because to beat him one on one with nobody sticking their noses in our business there won’t be anything left to say but I deserve to hold this belt and sit on top of the UWL mountain. But here tonight in the Scope Katashi Hirayama gets the first crack at me since I became champion. Katashi, I can appreciate you shooting your shot but I assure you that there will be no let doubt in my game since I finally became World Champion.

The camera shows Nick Danger in his locker room with an angry look on his and then speaks with an angry tone in his voice.

Nick Danger: I have done nothing but work hard each match I am in and always want to climb higher to get better. Now when I pin to be half of the tag team champions and get a shot to even a title another team gets jealous because me and Ace Sky earn a shot before Supreme Forces got involved.

Nick Danger: Your partner had a chance to pin and have the chance to fight for the tag team titles as but he failed and I was successful. But at Access Denied The Rising Aces is going to win. But tonight I am going to kick your ass and teach you not to mess with me.

UWL Eruption goes backstage, and there we find Leonardo already industriously at work to put the finishing touches to his creations, his 'muse' Calliope looking on and making sure to straighten out a few things when Leonardo isn't paying attention.

Leonardo - Perfect, just like everything I do, every single thing I just put down here is the ultimate encapsulation of my artistic brilliance, and it's just a matter of time before that dullard Jackson Burnside finds that out firsthand when he gets embarrassed by the greatest artistic wrestling champion in the history of everything, Leonardo!

Stepping away from a bust of himself in the style of a Roman Emperor, he turns around to face Calliope with a sly smile.

Leonardo - I hope you have done your duty too, my dear muse?

She doesn't have time to answer the question, because into the atelier walks Jackson Burnside, wary about the situation he was apparently invited into. The Weatherman looks around makeshift arthouse and he doesn't look amused.

Jackson Burnside - You send me half-thought out riddles, no direction... I still made it anyway, dude.

Dramatically Leonardo moved around the room, like a James Bond villain who was about to declare his latest diabolical plan that would this time permanently end the life of the British super-spy, or All-American wrestling star.

Leonardo - Welcome, Burnside, the man who to my greatest dismay I have to call my greatest adversary... For now, until I rid myself of your ever presence and I can focus on truly delivering the renaissance I have promised this disgusting artless sport.

Calliope would do her best to bleed into the background, perhaps to not distract Leonardo or maybe to be able to strike when the time would be ripe. But Burnside would make sure to keep an eye on the situation.

Jackson Burnside - Put a lot work into this for this old weatherman, didn't ya? Brother, I just play around. I'm not out here, standin' in front of green screens and runner Doppler radars. You really went all out, gimmie your greatest hits? 'S all a load of crap. You challenged me to a fight, and I'd rather have it without all the uh, pageantry."

Leonardo would laugh at Burnside's impatience, or lack of interest in his games.

Leonardo - Firstly, how dare you call my greatest artpieces 'crap', clearly a simpleton such as yours has never stepped into an art-gallery in his life to appreciate true art. We can't expect that of a street rat....

Leonardo's pin-point insult would land it's mark. The Weatherman would do his best to no-sell an old insult that many, including Arch Stanton would throw his way before. But a minor flinch and a reactive, involuntary sucking of teeth gives away that Leonardo's insult was a masterstroke of subtle genius.

Leonardo: - But secondly, this here is just a preview of what you will experience soon enough, this is my atelier, and in a few weeks this will turn into the scene of my greatest triumph, like Gaius Julius after crushing the equalminded Gauls under the unstoppable force of civilization of the Roman Republic.

Jackson Burnside takes a few seconds to inspect the room, mainly because Leonardo's ramblings was making his eyes glass over.

Jackson Burnside - Leo my man... I look around this room and I see some real talent. Maybe you did this yourself, maybe it's just a bunch of junk you bought from somebody's Etsy shop. As I've said, I'm a humble weather man, I don't get art. But I do get wrestling, and I don't think you do. From a weather man to an artist. Why are you doing this? You're in the wrong industry brother. You want to elevate wrestlin' to something great? Just tells me you don't get it. You're weak-minded and weak of body. If'n there's one thing I know, it's that harsh weather weeds out the weak.

Burnside would turn from admiring Leonardo's display. He then steps alarming close to the Heritage Champion. Leonardo then gets a bit defensive, though he would keep his calm and show no fear to the larger man standing over him.

Jackson Burnside: - I know you're weak Leo. So is this your arthouse? We doing this right now?

Leonardo throws up his hands disarmingly, but with a smile that would give the devil a run for their money, and hid nothing about his true intentions.

Leonardo - Easy, my simplistic Weatherman. Tonight we are not fighting, we are merely meeting like two civilized gentlemen. And I would wish to offer you a toast, ahead of the greater artist teaching the lesser wrestler what it means to step into the hellacious Artist's Atelier match!

With a snap of his fingers, Calliope would come forth with a tray of bubbly, offering the All-American the chance to grab the first glass. But to Leonardo's surprise and frustration, Jackson Burnside stayed stoic and refused the drink, merely staring at Leonardo with no interest in playing any more of his games.

Leonardo - Regrettable, I had hoped you would be more respectful towards someone as genius such as I...

Leonardo trailed off and seemed to want to turn around to leave, but almost childishly he'd grab the glasses of champagne and throw it straight into the face of the Weatherman, cackling like a maniac.

Leonardo - How do you like that sudden rainfal, Weatherman!

Burnside seemed ill amused and took a step forward, but would keel over clutching his jewels as they had been hit by Leonardo's muse, Calliope, who immediately seemed to apologize for what she did before stepping back as Leonardo pounced upon his stricken rival like a wild dog, throwing clubbing hands to keep the man down who in his best attempt tried to fight off the onslaught, pushing the artiste back causing the bust to topple off a pedestal. But just as the bust shatters on the floor Burnside would be hit flush on the chin by Leonardo's 'Starstruck' Superkick taking the big man down.

Before anything more could happen, the room fills up with backside personnel who tried to stop anything else to happen. Leonardo would lament at the shattered marble image of himself, before scoffing towards Burnside.

Leonardo - Look what you did, you art-defiling phillistine. Well, sadly in a few weeks, some more art has to be destroyed to teach you the important lesson that you cannot outsmart the greatest artiste of wrestling!

Taking Calliope with him, Leonardo would leave the makeshift atelier behind as Burnside is tended to by the backstage personnel...
