Grand Voyage 5-27-23

The cameras cut to Cliff and Logan over at ringside.

Cliff Morris: - "Things are only starting to heat up here in New Orleans, and later tonight we have three huge title matches on the card! The Tag Titles are on the line, The Rising Aces defending against two teams Logan."

A graphic pops up on the screen for the Tag Championship Match.

Logan Acker: - "It's a tough defense for the Tag Champs! Strike 2 Kill looking to strike gold here at Grand Voyage, and then these two other guys: the big fellas. Steak and Gravy Cliff, and lemme suggest that you don't wanna suggest that a couple of porterhouses are on the line, because if ya do then there's no stopping those boys."

Cliff Morris: - "Of course there's our main event, the Enforcer Anthony Cross looks to extend his impressive reign as UWL World Champion by defeating Daron Smythe."

The tag title graphic is replaced with a UWL World Championship graphic featuring Cross and Smythe.

Logan Acker: - "Cross has been an unstoppable machine since winning the belt. Right now Anthony Cross is on fire, and right now Anthony Cross is money."

Cliff Morris: - "And let's not forget the Heritage Championship. 'The Weatherman' takes on David Carroll in his first defense."

A final graphic showcasing "The Weatherman" Jackson Burnside and David Carroll is displayed.

Logan Acker: - "The Weatherman' has talked a big game, he always does. Promised to become the longest, most-defending Heritage Champion in UWL history and that is no small order."

Cliff Morris: - "In a little bit we'll hear from the Heritage Champ ahead of his title defense, but Logan just a little earlier today it seems the Weatherman took a video and uploaded it to his Instagram page. I've been asked to share, let's take a look."

The graphic comes down and we are shown cell phone footage (in portrait mode like some kind of degenerate). Burnside is taking a selfie, the new UWL Heritage title belt is over his shoulder. The sun is high in the sky, it's early. Fans are lined up waiting to get into the arena, and Burnside doesn't appear to be heading toward a special back entrance for staff and performers.

Jackson Burnside:
"You see all this? All these brothers lined up in New Orleans for Grand Voyage?"

People in the crowd cheer. Jackson adjusts the camera so we can see the line of people with the arena behind them.

Jackson Burnside:
"All these people, here to see a Champion. Here to witness a Champion. Here to watch a Champion. Not any Champion, the Champion. You take a look from head to toe at this right here. I'm here to beat anybody and everybody who wants to take this pretty new belt off my shoulder. No cheapshots tonight, no chairs, chains, or china. A wrestling match in New Orleans. A Champion doing what he does best... Oh and Carroll? I don't forgive ya, but then again I don't think you actually care."

Burnside turns and walks backward directly into the line. People crowd around to get into the shot.

Jackson Burnside:
"New Orleans, the Weatherman is here for Grand Voyage! LETS GO!"

Burnside laughs as the crowd cheers. The video cuts out.

The picture cuts across the arena and cuts to the ring.



Emily Lyle - The following contest is set for one fall with a fifteen minute time limit!

Sheep by Pink Floyd begins to play as the lights begin to flicker around as Katashi Hirayama steps out adjusting his collar of his ring jacket as he begins his way down the aisle toward the ring.

Emily Lyle - From Tokyo, Japan, weighing two hundred and eighteen pounds, Katashi Hirayama!!

Slowly walking down the aisle toward the ring he keeps his eyes focused on the ring as he's focused on his match.

The crowd is buzzing when suddenly the lights go out.



"Born for Greatness" by Papa Roach plays as the crowd buzzes, as the crowd goes nuts. The first verse plays out, causing more anticipation. As the verse comes to the end it pauses for a moment. All of the lights go out again, but then come right back on in full brightness!!!



Suddenly, Billy "The G.O.A.T." Danielson walks out from behind the curtain to a huge pop, as he makes his way down to the ring. He's in wrestling gear, high-fiving fans as he makes his way to the ring.

Emily Lyle - From Chicago, Illinois, weighing two hundred and thirty five pounds Billy Danielson!!

He wipes his feet before going up to the apron, and into the ring. Danielson throws his arms in the air. He slowly backs into his corner and waits for the bell to ring.

Cliff Morris - We’re ready for our next match up. As Billy Danielson takes on Katashi Hirayama.

The bell rings and the match begins. Hirayama and Danielson circle each other before locking up in the center of the ring. After a couple of moments of struggle Hirayama comes at Danielson nailing him with hard punches which stun him. Danielson steadies himself before firing Hirayama into the ropes. Danielson attempts a chop but Hirayama ducks and rebounds back off the ropes. Danielson this time attempts a hard kick but Hirayama slides underneath him. Hirayama wraps his arms around Hirayama's waist and pushes him into the ropes before dragging him backwards and attempting a quick roll up.

Danielson charges at Hirayama but Hirayama pulls down the top rope and Danielson momentum sends him to the outside. Danielson gets to his feet as Hirayama bounces off the ropes and dives at Danielson, however he moves and Hirayama lands stomach first on the guardrail. Danielson runs at him kicking him in the face with a kick to his face. Hirayama falls forward onto the floor. Danielson stomps on his neck and back.

Cliff Morris - Billy Danielson turning up the aggressiveness as he attacks Hirayama!

Logan Acker - This is a side we’ve not seen from Billy Danielson in some time!

Danielson pulls Hirayama up. He pushes him back in the ring. Danielson pulls him up to his feet. He sends him into the corner. He runs in close behind him nailing him with a clothesline in the corner. Danielson steps back. Hirayama comes out of the corner. Danielson kicks him in his stomach, doubling him over. He grabs him around his head, lifts him up and plants him down with a suplex. Danielson turns, he covers him, the referee counts.

Danielson pulls Hirayama up to his feet. He goes to grab him, but Hirayama blocks it. He kicks Danielson. Hirayama runs at him, nailing him with a spinning back elbow, which stumbles Danielson. Hirayama takes him down with a discus clothesline. Hirayama goes out to the ring apron quickly, moving up to the top rope. He leaps off landing down on him with a double foot stomp, landing down on his stomach. He turns looking at Danielson grimacing in pain.

Cliff Morris - These two are throwing heavy loads at one another!

Logan Acker - You can say that again!

Hirayama runs at Danielson and pulls him up to his feet. Danielson stands wobbling on his feet. He turns spinning back around clocking Danielson with a discus elbow. Hirayama runs off the ropes. He comes back at Danielson taking him down with a leg lariat. He rises up to his feet. He turns, jumps into the air landing down on him with an elbow drop. Hirayama turns, he covers him, the referee counts.

2.. Kick out!

They both return to their feet. Danielson gets sent into the corner. Hirayama runs at him, but he's met with a Spear from Danielson. He turns throwing his arms wildly. Danielson turns grabbing him up and plants Hirayama up and down with the Franchise (Inverted Crucifix Bomb). Danielson covers him, the referee counts.

Danielson rises up and takes in the moment.

The show cuts to a break.

The camera shows Nick Danger and Ace Sky backstage with the UWL Tag Team Championships on their shoulders and wearing their wrestling gear. They both have confident facial expressions on their face and are ready to defend their tag team titles against Strike 2 Kill and Steak and Gravy.

Ace Sky speaks first

Ace Sky : we have been tag champions now for 70 days. 70 days for our first defense, it’s a long time coming but I’m ready, you’re ready right Nick?

Ace asks turning his head smirking

Nick nods his head and then speaks

Nick Danger: Yes I am ready to defend these tag team titles tonight and fight the best tag team here tonight at Grand Voyage.

Ace: I have a lot of respect for Steak and Gravy, they seem like great guys. They love the business, their one difference from us , is we can actually wrestle , they have power and even some good speed for their size however when it comes to the fundamentals , we put the fun in fundamentals. Plus not to be mean but they obviously aren’t that bright, we can probably outsmart them, we are quicker-minded and quicker athletically.

Nick: That is true Ace Sky. Steak and Gravy have power but all that will go to waste if they can't use it right. So we are not worried about you guys. But the main team we have our eyes on is Strike 2 Kill. Now Strike 2 Kill you guys are former UWL Tag Team Champions and we know you guys want the gold back but you guys are not winning these so easily be prepared for a fight tonight.

Ace: A fight? Nah man, this is going to be a battle . There is still so much for us to display as we continue rising and thriving , as the undisputed UWL
Champions!

We see the backstage locker room at the Lakefront Arena. The brand new Heritage Championship belt is displayed atop a shelf above a locker. The strap is neatly folded back and the belt rests pristinely. The plates face outward and catch the light, which reflects off brilliantly. The camera pans back from the championship belt slowly. The Weatherman, Jackson Burnside has his back turned to the camera with his head down. As we pan farther out we can see the Champ finishing up his pre-match preparation; he finishes wrapping some tape around his right wrist and when that is done he pulls on a large black trench coat. Burnside turns around. His beard is looking shaggy again, his eyes are covered by a small pair of circular sunglasses.

He smiles and grabs the Heritage Title belt off the shelf. He holds the title belt in his right hand, and then raises the sunglasses with his left. The Weatherman gazes up his new title belt with his own eyes and nods approvingly. Then he throws the belt over his left shoulder, lowers the sunglasses and heads out of the locker room. The camera follows him out and into the hallway, where Abby Joseph is waiting. Burnside greets her with his arms wide, and the camera walks around to the front of them so the door to the locker room is behind them.

Jackson Burnside:
"Waiting for me all night brother?"

Abby, to her credit, plays along.

Abby Joseph:
"Always want to get a word in with the Heritage Champ - with the one and only Weatherman of UWL!"

Jackson Burnside:
"And the Weatherman never disappoints! The Weatherman always delivers and tonight, down here in New Orleans is getting a certified, first-class, priority stamped package put right into their hands! Now we all know that nature isn't kind to the good folks down here in the Big Easy, but the Weatherman is. Tonight the Crescent City gets the Heritage Title Match or a lifetime and Abby, it's gonna be a party after I beat David Carroll and retain my title!"

Abby Joseph:
"Are you confident about that? Let me play a little game of Devil's Advocate: last time you were in the ring with David Carroll, things didn't go your way. Can I say that maybe there was a storm that didn't get picked up on the radar?"

Jackson Burnside:
"Leave the weather forecasts to me brother! Listen I won't mince it: my name isn't Gordon Ramsay! I'm a Weatherman, and a weather man doesn't stand here, slice and dice onions into those perfectly delectable cubes. Put 'em on a hamburger, phew!" He shakes his head for emphasis. "Nah, a few weeks ago David Carroll, he cold-clocked me real good right in the middle of the ring! He caught this old Weatherman by surprise and because of that I ate the pin! But lemme tell you this Abby; when I was layin' there dazed. Listenin' to Carroll's music play, seeeing a buncha Tweetie Birds flying around my head, all I could think about was a receipt. After I got up and made the walk of shame to the back, all I could think about was our next meeting. What it would feel like to stick my boot down Carroll's throat! How satisfying it would be to drop one of these 50 pound atomic hamhocks across Carroll's body!" He slaps his leg as he describes it as a "50 pound atomic hamhock." "To get him up on my back and feel the pain of the Torture Rack."

Abby Joseph:
"Are you saying you wanted this match before it was official?"

Burnside nods eagerly.

Jackson Burnside:
"Oh yeah... This is a match I want. I'm gonna be the most fightin'ist Heritage Champ in UWL history, and I'm not gonna take chairshots on the head without repercussions. David wants to talk about how bad he felt, how be begged the Cloud Man for forgiveness? That's what sets me and Carroll apart. He'll damn near give me a concussion and ask for a little leanency. Not the Weatherman! I'm gonna go out there, beat the Hell outta ol' Dave, wrack his body and make him submit, then go home and sleep like a baby. So watch close Abbs-" He turns and looks directly into the camera "-New Orleans, and pay attention to how the Weatherman takes care of business. David Carroll, I'm gonna beat the breaks off you!"

He turns back to Abby and adjust the title belt.

Jackson Burnside:
"Cut, print, check the gate."

Burnside walks off, and leaves everyone with that final image. An enraged, vengeful Heritage Champ, forcing David Carroll to submit to the power of his Torture Rack.

The picture cuts across the arena and cuts to the ring.



Emily Lyle - The following contest is set for one fall with a forty five minute time limit and it is the UWL Tag Team Championship!

With Cake By The Ocean playing through the arena, the crowd gets on their feet as they cheer for the entrance of Steak and Gravy who make their way onto the apron, the two brothers being full of energy and vigor as they bump along with the song leading them to the ring, making sure to slap the hands of all the fans at ringside on their way down.

Emily Lyle – Making their way to the ring, weighing in at a combined 'svelte' 620 pounds, and hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee... They are the team of Steak and Gravy!

The crowd lets out a cheer for the two brothers as they slide their way in the ring, bouncing off the ropes a few times before giving each other a chestbump that makes the ring shake from its force. Looking ready for action, they eagerly bounce up and down waiting for the match to begin.


As the lights in the arena begin to dim, Finished I Ain't by Ghostpoet begins to play through the arena as purple strobe lights shine from the stage and emerging from the back are Strike 2 Kill. Both men stand on the top of the entrance ramp with a look of ruthlessness about them, they look at each other, nodding heads and fist bumping, before making their way down to the ring. Lingering behind them is their Manager, Gregory Murphy, who has a slimy grin on his face as he swaggers down the entrance ramp after them.

Once they reach the edge of the ring, both men leap onto the apron and climbing onto the top ropes of either side of the nearest turnbuckles, posing for the fans who applaud in appreciation.

Emily Lyle - And their opponents…at a combined weight of 351 lbs… STRIKE 2 KILL!

Ace comes out in an aviator jacket decorated with many accoutrements and patches of different emblems of flags( Universal peace sign, Texas, japan. ) and the new third eye design sun glasses Matt Sydal wears IRL in entrances now in 2023, while
Nick wears just a simple but cool leather jacket, they toss their jackets to fans after high-fiving fans down the aisle on their own side, so they can high-five most fans on both sides of the aisle. Ace does his signature slide through the bottom rope while Nick does a brock-lesnar-bobby lashley jump on the apron, an RVD/lance storm style quick hop up the turnbuckle and poses on the turnbuckle as Ace does a backflip/moonsault off the apron ropes into a lotus pose seated position

Cliff Morris - It's time for the UWL Tag Team Championship three way tag team match up.

The bell sounds, starting the match between Watson and Danger. They slowly move around one another, waiting for the other to make their first move. They slowly move into a collar and elbow tie-up. Watson takes Danger around into a side headlock. He wrenches his arms tight around Danger’s head. Danger sends Watson off, and he runs, hitting off the ropes back at Danger. He charges at Watson, sending him down with a running shoulder block. Watson slowly gets to his feet. He moves around Danger as both men stare at one another. They lock up, and as they do, Watson grabs Danger's arm into an arm wringer. He twists his arm around as Danger reverses it, taking Watson over with an arm drag. Both men get to their feet, and as they do, Watson runs at Danger, hitting him with a kick to the stomach. Danger doubles over as Watson grabs Danger around his head, dropping him down with a swinging neckbreaker. Watson gets up quickly, tagging Sky. He makes his way up to the top rope, jumping off and landing down onto Danger with an elbow drop. The sky covers him, and the referee counts.

Sky grabs Danger's head in a side headlock. Danger sends Sky off into the ropes. He runs back at Danger, locks his arms around Sky, and throws him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Sky staggers up to his feet as he does. Danger connects flush in his face with a running big boot, knocking Sky back into the ropes. He falls through the ropes and onto the floor. Danger turns and makes a tag for Richardson. He makes his way into the ring, runs across the ring, and dives out to the outside, hitting Sky with the suicide dive. Richardson gets to his feet. Richardson pulls Sky to his feet and shoves him back into the ring. Sky rolls back into the ring. Richardson follows closely behind him. Sky stumbles to his feet. Richardson charges at him, connecting with a running European uppercut. Sky falls back into the ropes with a stunned look on his face. He moves away from the ropes, and as he does, Richardson grabs Sky, dropping him down with a cradle suplex. Richardson turns, he covers him, and the referee counts

They lean on one another, talking. They slowly slide back in the ring, and the referee tells them one of them is out. Watson stays in the ring as Steak goes out, and it’s Gravy and Watson in the ring. They move toward one another to lock up, and Watson kicks Gravy in the stomach, doubling over. Watson runs off the ropes back at Gravy; he leaps into the air, nailing him with a leg lariat. Gravy rises off the mat. Gravy goes out to the ring apron. He pulls himself up on the top rope and leaps off, nailing Watson with a springboard dropkick. Gravy goes to the corner, moves up the ropes to the top rope, and leaps off for a diving elbow drop, but Watson moves out of the way, and Gravy lands on his feet. Watson runs at Gravy with a clothesline. He turns, and Gravy rises off the mat. Watson runs at Gravy, planting him with a facebuster. Watson rises with a serious look on his face.

Cliff Morris - Miles Watson looks like he means business!

Logan Acker - S2K has came out with a since if urgency that I've not seem from them in sometime.

Watson comes to Gravy. He grabs his, but he counters with a pair of European uppercuts that stagger Watson. He kicks him in the stomach, doubling him over. Gravy drops him with a swinging neckbreaker. Gravy rises up, and he tags in Steak.

Cliff Morris - Gravy makes the tag!

Logan Acker - In comes Steak!

Steak grabs Watson around his head, sending him down with a suplex. Steak rises to his feet. He runs off the ropes as Watson rises up, and he nails him with a big boot, which sends him inside and out. Steak pulls him up to his feet. He grabs him in a half-nelson. Steak turns him toward Richardson. Steak lifts him up, throwing him back with a half-Nelson suplex. Steak turns, rising to his feet. He gyrates his hips. Richardson slaps the turnbuckle again. Steak turns, and he runs off the ropes, landing on Watson with a knee drop. Steak turns, pinning him, and the referee counts.

Steak rises up off the mat with a smile on his face, and he tags in Gravy. He runs in, nailing Watson with a double kick to the face. Gravy goes out to the ring apron. He stands on the ring apron. He pulls himself up on the top rope. Richardson runs around, grabbing his ankle and pulling it off. He falls off, slapping his face off the ring apron as he falls and hitting the floor.

Richardson gets to his feet, and he tags in Danger. He makes his way into the ring. Danger grabs Sky, hitting him with a European uppercut, and he falls back into the corner. Danger grabs him around his wrist, sending him across the ring into the opposite corner. He runs in at him, but Sky moves out of the way. Sky runs at Danger, hitting him with a dropkick in the back of his head. Sky gets to his feet, and he makes the tag for Watson. He grabs Danger out of the corner; he does, and he looks to lock on the abdominal stretch, but Danger reveres it, hip-tossing Watson over. Danger pulls Watson to his feet and sends him into the ropes. Watson runs off the ropes and gets met with a hard clothesline. Danger pulls him towards him before he falls back. Danger leans Watson over, lifts him up, and drives him into the mat with a belly-to-back suplex. Danger leans over him, covering him, and the referee counts

Danger gets to his feet, and he grabs Watson into a half-Nelson. He lifts him up for a German suplex, but Watson flips over, landing on his feet. He runs up behind Danger, dropping him face-first with a bulldog. Watson pulls Danger up to his feet, shoots around him, and goes for a German suplex, but before he can lift Danger up, he reverses around behind Watson. Danger lifts Watson up, sending him into the mat with a German suplex. Danger gets to his feet, and he makes the tag for Richardson. He moves into the ring. Watson slowly gets to his feet. Richardson charges at Watson for a clothesline, but he ducks under it. Richardson turns around, and as he does, Watson catches him with a kick to the stomach. He grabs him around his head, dropping Richardson down with a snap suplex into a cover. The referee counts

Kick out.

Danger goes to the top rope. Gravy runs down the ring apron and knocks Danger off the top rope down to the floor. Gravy comes into the ring and gets met with a big boot from Richardson. Richardson and Watson grab Gravy and lift him up plant him down with the Destination EXILE. Richardson covers him, as Watson stands guard, the referee counts.
