The shot opens in a room where Emily Lyle sits with David Carroll. The place is decorated with two armchairs which Emily and David sit, and a short table holding a non-descript potted plant. The room itself could also be described as non-descript, with bare, eggshell white walls. It's difficult to determine where this scene is taking place, as it could be in the backstage area, or off location. Emily is dressed in attire different from what she wears as a ring announcer; business casual would be the term. David himself wears gray slacks and a black collared shirt, button down with no tie. They're facing each other in their seats, a distance of about ten feet separating them. Emily sits upright, looking a little bit nervous while facing the camera. David, on the other hand, seems as relaxed as if he were in his own home.
Emily Lyle: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with the UWL 2023 Coronation Cup winner, David Carroll."
David Carroll: "Thank you very much Emily, I didn't even give you any notes to introduce me as such."
Emily (clearing her throat): "You're welcome. David, I have to say I was a little bit surprised when you requested me for this interview. Abby typically performs these, this is kind of outside of my function."
David: "But you're not unfamiliar with interviewing people, correct? You've done it before when you worked for the news station."
Emily: "Well, yes, I was actually a reporter and an anchor."
David nods a little bit, bringing his hands together and leaning forward.
David: "Some might even say you're more qualified than Abby. I think you'll be just fine. Besides, there's only one question that you really need to ask."
Emily's hands fidget in her lap as David speaks. A silence permeates the air between the two, with Emily blinking and clearly trying to come up with the question that David referenced. When she eventually spoke, it was clear that she was not confident.
Emily: "You took some time away before coming back at the last show, and you've brought back two very large, seemingly talented young men to compete in the UWL. What are your plans going forward?"
David smiled brightly, leaning back in his chair.
David: "Well done. Not only is that a great question, but it's the appropriate question to ask given the circumstances of my return."
Emily beams, the color coming back in her face and her confidence growing.
David: "May I tell you a story?"
Emily nods in response.
David: "Recently I met a boy down in Cutler Bay, when I was speaking at the Well Christian Church, name of Robert. Robert's thirteen now, plays free safety for his middle school team the Warriors. Good kid, athletic, sandy hair, he'll be extremely successful in this life. I bring him up because he told me a story, something that happened to him the previous year. He was on vacation with his family; parents, his younger brother, two sets of aunts and uncles and five cousins. They went to Washington D.C., which as you can imagine is a tad bit busier than Cutler Bay. They go to see the usual sights, the White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, museums and such. Well one day, the adults give them some free time, so Robert and his cousin Paxton, who's the same age as him, decide to separate from the rest and head to a movie theater just a few blocks from where they're saying."
David breaks for a moment, passing a glance to ensure he still has Emily's undivided attention.
David: "They go see the movie, I forget which one because that's not important, and are leaving to head back to the hotel. The very first crosswalk they get to, they've got a green signal and they start to cross. It was at this time, however, that a female driver who was on her phone, made an illegal left turn and was heading straight for them. The boys froze and Robert said that he had one of those near death experiences. Saw his young life flash before his eyes. He thought he heard his cousin yell, but he couldn't be certain. All that was certain was that he was staring at the grill of an SUV that was set to shuffle him from this mortal coil. He closed his eyes, and the longest few seconds of his life passed."
David began to lean forward and Emily's posture matched his own.
David: "When he opened his eyes, he realized that he was still standing, but he standing on the curb next to his cousin. They were both unharmed, but the car actually jumped the sidewalk about ten yards down and hit the side of the movie theater. Robert asked his cousin if he jumped back. His cousin said no, and asked him in kind, to which Robert said no. Neither of them had attempted to jump out of the way, but there they were, out of the street with nary a mark on them."
A smile grew on Emily's lips as she heard the punchline to the story. David responded with one of his own.
David: "Why do I bring this up? Well, when he told me the story it was clear in my mind that meant God had bigger plans for him and his cousin. His will and his plans cannot be bent, and they cannot be broken. I see the same iron will and God's presence in both Amir and Youssef Saliba. Two cousins, who probably walked side by side, crossing many dangerous streets in their youth. They didn't grow up like I did, with a lot of advantages that I squandered in some of what might be considered my scandalous days. They lived through violence, and drugs, and filth, and evil. A lot of their friends and family members didn't make it. They, on the other hand, both graduated from high school, became some of the best amateur athletes their country has ever seen, and even got through college with degrees. How their paths became twisted in the past year or two was a test, do you see? God was testing them, and some of the choices that they made were unfortunately the wrong ones. But God forgives, if you ask it of him. And they have both asked God's forgiveness, thus they have received it. Two weeks ago, they both made a statement and tonight, it's Amir's turn to expand upon that statement. You may think it crude for me to say that you're either with us or against us, but in the next few weeks, months, maybe throughout the course of 2024, it's going to become very clear. There may be an invisible line drawn down the middle of the UWL locker room, but it won't be my doing. It'll be God's will."
The shot, which had been zooming in on David's face, abruptly cuts after the last sentence.

UWL & Camp Silverback Present...
The scene opens with a cinematic style, wide shot zooming in on a lone Buck in an open, snow covered field. It's early in the morning, the sun just now rising over in the horizon. The Buck cautiously nibbles from the ground, slowly stepping forward. His head suddenly raises as he looks off to the east where a flock of birds begin flying up and out from a brush pile.
Now the scene cuts to Chevy, who's about 320 or so yards away, aiming down the sights of his scope on his rifle. He takes the shot and hits the Buck directly in the chest, the animal falls and gets up before shortly dropping to the ground once more. Chevelle stands up, ejecting the shell from the rifle and makes his way through the field toward his kill.
"Whether it be for food, the trophy, the gold...I never stop hunting. I wanna be that top tier predator. I strive for that position. When I'm on the marquee there isn't another bad sonuvabitch that can compare. That's what I'm here for, that's why I'm the UWL World Heavyweight Champion."
Skipping ahead, now Chevy is cutting out the heart, he holds it up for a moment and takes a bite out of it followed by two more before he tosses it aside and finishes the deer. The next shot shows him slinging the carcass over his shoulder and carrying it over to his horse where he ties it down on the horses back. A wide shot distantly follows Chevy back to the house.
Chevelle has the Buck hanging inside his garage, by now it's been fully skinned and he's preparing to harvest what hasn't been already. He looks into the camera, smiling and pointing over at the carcass.
"Daron Smythe can't get over the fact he's not champion anymore and he's shook. He doesn't wanna admit it, I get it. But you know where you went wrong, Smythe?"
"You let yourself become prey."
"You sat back and waited for your next challenger to either make their way up to you or be hand picked in order to hopefully put on a good match for the fans sake. You stopped hunting, and you became hunted. At least by one man finally. When I lost the television championship I didn't sit around or act all out of sorts about it. I accepted the title was gone, took my loss and realized I lost it because what I wanted; Was what I have now. Followed by a victory over you because I'd listen to you speak and half hearted call outs, and the way you carry yourself as this high and mighty hero of the people."
"But let's be honest, you weren't being challenged."
"You are not better than me, and whether it's a tag team match, a fatal four way, or an iron man match I am going to beat that fact into your skull! I am gonna hunt you, stalk you, and put you down then open you up and I'm going to eat your god damn heart son!"
"You want an Ironman match? I accept."
Chevy puts his blades down, turning all attention and focus into the camera.
"It's what I've wanted all along Smythe. To me an Ironman match is the true test for any wrestler. I got no problem whuppin that ass for an hour straight! So I'll tell you what, Haley will get in touch with the boss and we'll make it happen! But let's focus on December ninth, where you and my pal Billy are against me and The god damn weatherman himself! You want a fun fact? The only man in this match to have a win over me is my partner! How about another fun fact? Ol' Papa Chevy has wins over both of ya and he's fixin' to have another!"
"Good news everyone, JB's gonna finally get a win! Bad news is the man's so depressed lately he might cost me this match...."
"I'm just kidding JB"
"No, the bad news is Smythe you may as well be in a handicap match. Because what if, what if your partner doesn't come to your aid? What if he says to hell with you and the match and leaves you on your own?"
"I know. You'll gallantly push on through right? Of course you would. Hell I'm counting on it. Because it's your "destiny", right Daron? You believe you're destined to be world champ. Well ya were, destiny over asshole. Along came me and I saw a guy who needed humbled so I did. Yet your delusional ass seems to think I didn't beat you one on one so some how I didn't really beat you. If that ain't a load of horse sh[DJ SCRATCH] I don't know what is!"
"No Daron, I beat you. But I'm happy to do it again just so I don't have to defend against Sonya Benson again."
"Welcome to Silverback Country."
Chevy grabs up a knife and turns to the deer as the scene fades to black.

We cut backstage where Abby Joseph stands by with a smirky Sonya Benson.
Abby Joseph: Ladies and Gentlemen, join me in welcoming Sonya Benson for a moment of her time leading into her match tonight against Jeremy Riggs.
The crowd joins her alright, with a metric fuckton of jeers!
Abby Joseph: Sonya, I have to say, I’m surprised to find you in good spirits. The last time we saw you on UWL programming was the 18th Anniversary Show against our world’s champion.
Even the mention of her brutal defeat a few weeks ago doesn’t dampen the spunky smirk that Benson is sporting.
Sonya Benson: Look, I’m not a wrestler. I’ll never claim to be such a deplorable thing. But I know how the wrestling business works, otherwise, I wouldn’t have survived this two-year-long prison sentence in wrestling, nor would I have beaten some of the people I have and won the titles I’ve won. Did I not beat your idiot Heritage Champion who is so wrinkled that he needs to be ironed? Uh, like, yah I did. What the brass did at the Anniversary show was give their unstoppable beast a sure-fire win, knowing full well I can’t possibly beat a monster like that. It also satisfied a lot of fans seeing me pummeled like that. I’m so done with hating promoters for doing this to me that it doesn’t matter to me anymore. I will say this though: at least the brass gave me a consolation prize in Jeremy Riggs tonight.
Benson giggle-snorts and pats her hands together deviously.
Sonya Benson: I mean, like, I totes beat Jeremy Riggs two months ago right here in *suddenly gets hillbilly redneck accent* TEN-UH-SEE.. Ah hur hur ah dur dur.
Sonya cocks her head back in a fit of laughter and wipes her forehead as though she’s laughed so hard it’s made her sweat.
Sonya Benson: What is it with the boss booking me in TEN-UH-SEE again so soon? Isn’t this supposed to be the UNIVERSAL wrestling league or something? Where’s the rest of the universe? The way I see it, if we gave the universe an enema, we’d stick the hose right here in Knoxville.
Oh man the crowd is LIVID now.
Sonya Benson: Overall, I’m pleased. I have three more wins to go and I already beat Virginia’s finest Jeremy Riggs a few months ago, so I’ll be leaving the puke pile of a city needing only TWO more wins to go after tonight! I am so happy that I’ve decided to treat the fans here in Knoxville to an early Christmas gift. So, without further adieu.
Benson gestures with a swift hand motion and the scene switches to the crowd inside the Thompson-Boiler Arena. A moment later thousands of MAULED and DISFIGURED stuffed animals of “Smokey” the Tennessee Volunteer’s basketball team mascot rain down from the rafters. The desecrated stuffed animals have been dipped in some type of foul-smelling stuff too, making the smell horrible.
Kids begin crying upon seeing their favorite mascot mangled and defaced in such a way. Parents are in an uproar over this and a few can already be shouting something about a lawsuit against UWL. Amid the chaos, UWL production teams in the back wisely go to commercial break.

Coming back from break, Cory Chevelle is making his way out on stage. As his music plays he looks around the arena at the fans that boo him, some cheering him. He slowly raises the World Heavyweight Championship and the reception only gets louder. The Silverback approaches the ring, hopping up to the apron and springing over the top rope with grace and ease, picking the title back up and draping it over his left shoulder.
He motions for a mic...
Cory Chevelle: Wish I could say Knoxville that it's great to be back but honestly I can't. This town sucks more d[DJ SCRATCH] than a dirtleg tryin' to get the rock!
The crowd boo's intensifies and grows louder, drawing a smile to Chevy's face, and he tips his hat the exact moment that smile cracks across his face.
Cory Chevelle: Listen up you pie-eyed sonsabitches! I know how excited you are when it's me instead of David Carroll giving another 'creepy uncle touched me where I pee' sermon. You see them boys he introduced? Man they were scary! Who'd they beat up again? Yeah, I don't remember either because like most watching I didn't care! We got these adoles showing like a bunch of tower swiping terrorists! Then we got Tatakatua, tatukama, Tata-honka? WHATEVER the hell they wanna call themselves, because The Silverback says they're nothing more than the equivalent of dried dog feces!
The champ walks around stoic inside the ring, like a shark stalking it's prey. His eyes once more find the camera and he continues.
Cory Chevelle: These retards actually debuted and said some of the dumbest lines I've ever heard! 'Champions aren't made when they win the belt but when they train until they have nothingleft to give' or some crazy horse sh[DJ SCRATCH] like that. These assholes preaching what the problem with UWL IS WHEN UWL AIN'T THE PROBLEM! ITS THE LILY ASS'S IN THE BACK WHO LACK BALLS AND DONT CARE IF THEY'RE REMEMBERED! God Damn! I'm not a smart man but even fu[DJ SCRATCH] Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder can see it! Folks I'm not here to make you false promises of change and all that other bullshit. I'm here to be the baddest mother fu[DJ SCRATCH] in the company, title or no title.
I didn't sit and moan when I lost the television title did I? Nah, hell no I just picked my nuts up and went on to win the god damn World Heavyweight Championship! The point is... you shouldn't dwell, Smythe. Newsflash, you can share your sweet little dreams of being great, and being one of the greats among the a bunch of over hyped sonsabitches that they call hall of famers, but you are in fact, NOT. You ain't even in the discussion! But you keep striving and throwing yourself out there! Meanwhile I'ma be wearing this championship belt and reminding the world what good old fashion ass whuppin's look like!
Chevelle let's the mic drop and his music begins playing as he rolls out of the ring and walks back up the ramp.

Abby Joseph:I am here with Jenna Jillian Walker.
Jenna walks into the camera shot just to the left of Abby.
Abby Joseph:WelcomeJenna.
Jenna Jillian Walker:Thank you, Abby. I’m glad to be here.
Abby Joseph:You’ve come up short in your battles with BRADDOCK over the UWL Television Championship as of late but tonight you are stepping into the ring with one of UWL’s true legends in Robert Daniels.
Jenna Jillian Walker:You’re correct on all counts, Abby. I wish I could be standing here with the UWL World Television Championship belt but it wasn’t meant to be. Rest assured though that I’ll eventually get there but as you have pointed out Abby:I am facing a former multiple time World Heavyweight Champion. Obviously this will be a tall task for anybody.
Abby Joseph:It definitely will.
Jenna Jillian Walker:Despite it being a tall task I am super excited to step into the ring with Robert.
Abby Joseph:Why is that Jenna?
Jenna Jillian Walker:Robert is a wrestler who has accomplished a lot and I don’t know about anybody else but to step into the ring with an excellent competitor. Not only do I have a chance to defeat Robert but I will for sure sharpen my skills inside the squared circle. But don’t get me wrong Robert, I am not just happy to be here. I am stepping into the ring tonight to to get the win and I believe I will because I have put in the work to earn a win. What you will do by the end of the night is trust the process.

Cory Chevelle is backstage warming up when the camera pans to the left, showing Jackson Burnside approaching him. Chevelle stops his warm up, and picks up the UWL World title, draping it over his right shoulder as he watches Jackson.
Cory Chevelle: What do you want?
Jackson Burnside: Whoa, easy brother. Just wanted to stop in and check-up on my partner.
Jackson slaps Chevy on the shoulder and smiles.
Cory Chevelle: Yeah, I guess I'd be happy too if I knew I was pretty much guaranteed a win tonight.
Burnside takes the barb with a smile. He sucks his teeth and nods his head.
Jackson Burnside: Sure I get it, I get it. I'm on a bit of a slope at the moment. Little downward spiral dude.
Chevy raises an eyybrow.
Cory Chevelle: A little? Tell me brother, where's those belts of yours? That's right Billy has one of them. My TV title is with BRADDOCK now, too. Gotta say he looks good with it."
Burnside puts his hands up defensively.
Jackson Burnside: Easy brother, easy! The Weatherman is approaching you like a man, I come in peace. 'Cause look, you aren't tellin' me anything I don't already knw dude. I want to course correct. I want that to start tonight. So I came here, face you man-to-man, to see if we're cool. We gotta work together tonight after all.
Cory Chevelle: Yeah well, you can take your peace offering and drive that sumbitch right back up your ass where the idea fell from.
Jackson Burnside: Brother where is this hostility coming from? Look I get it, you don't like me and I don't like you. But like whats'is'name said the enemy of my enemy is my friend right?
Chevy rolls his eyes and shakes his head.
Cory Chevelle Billy and I are friends. You and I are not. Understand, dude? Now look you wanna come in here, put water under the bridge, Chevy understands this but don't think for a second I ain't watching you or forgot anything.
Burnside removes his sunglasses in a moment of disbelief. He stares at Chevy looking incredulous.
Jackson Burnside: Like that time you jumped ME after a match and put a whuppin' on me?
The two men now stand nose to nose, with Chevelle nodding.
Cory Chevelle Oh now you want me to say sorry!?
Jackson Burnside It'd be nice, but that's not necessary. You and I aren't finished but we'll square that up later. We don't need to be buddy buddy. We don't need matching gear and synchronized offensive. Let's get through this match in one piece. It's no secret I need a win. I'll do my damnest with or without you. I'll leave this on the table for ya: we're a few weeks away from Starzone. How's it gonna look if the World Champ starts slipping tonight? Hm? Let' just get it done.
Burnside backs away from Chevy. He's sure to keep his eyes on the Champ as he begins to back out of the shot. Chevy nods.
Cory Chevelle: I don't slip. I get it done.
Chevy looks at the World Title belt to reassure himself. He turns around to resume his warm-ups as the scene ends.

There’s hype and electricity backstage. Maybe it’s because it is the big go-home show before Starrzone, or maybe it’s because the Heritage Champion was standing in front of a UWL banner and getting ready to give one of his always-anticipated promos. Billy Danielson takes a deep inhale through his nose as if trying to siphon some of the energy in the arena.
Billy Danielson - Big fight feel in the Thompson-Boling for tonight’s main event, huh?
He listens for the fans’ reactions as he shifts his UWL Heritage Championship on his shoulder. Billy then raises one hand and has three fingers on it, and 1 on his other hand.
Billy Danielson - You’ve got essentially the 3 of the men to hold down UWL over the last few years, and a man who helped hold UWL down in its heyday.
He continues to change his hands to match the different numbers he’s about to say.
Billy Danielson - You can also cut it as 4 men who have held the UWL World Championship, 4 men who have held the UWL TV Championship, 2 Champions, and 2 Challengers, or even just 4 damn good wrestlers in general.
Danielson chuckles to himself as he shakes his head.
Billy Danielson - It doesn’t matter how you look at the match, it’s a big freaking deal. It gets even bigger when you think about the fact that Chevy and Jackson don’t like each other, and Daron and I aren’t that far off. People start to throw those “can they co-exist” in the air because they know wrestlers have egos before they are professionals every single time, but this isn’t just any ego. These are 4 highly respected, highly decorated, and highly volatile egos, and when they see each other across the ring 9 times out of 10 sparks are bound to fly. So it truly begs the question “Can Daron and Billy co-exist”.
Billy shrugs his shoulders for a second as he pauses. He truly didn’t know if his mutual respect for Daron Smythe outweighed his mutual distaste for the man, but he was willing to give it a chance, especially if it meant an opportunity to snuff even more of Jackson Burnside’s momentum and maybe even finally beat Chevy.
Billy Danielson - Well… as the old cliche goes… the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and tonight, Burnside is just as much Daron’s enemy as he is mine, and though Chevy and I have a LONG history together, he’s just as much my enemy as Daron’s tonight.
For a small moment, Billy feels bad for calling his long-time friend an enemy, but that moment quickly passes as he would like nothing more than to get a win over Cory.
Billy Danielson - And realistically, despite he and I not getting along, there are not many people in the UWL I’d want to reluctantly team with other than Daron. He completely resuscitated his career and is wrestling at a level that some people only dream of in their prime, let alone in a second lease on their career nearly 15 years after they hung up their boots the first time.
Danielson is trying to make sure to hype up his partner as much as possible because he knows he needs to butter Daron up a bit to get him to trust Billy more. However, he also realizes that his opponents are just as impressive.
Billy Danielson - Then again, Cory can say the same thing.
He raises one hand, to punctuate the fact that Cory’s meteoric return is just as impressive, despite being “on the other hand”.
Billy Danielson - He returns to UWL after… what? Seven years away? Instantly wins the TV and World Championships without even trying? Like he never left? Just as dominant as ever? His daughter looks just as attractive as ever too, might I add. Regardless, he’s dangerous, but I know Daron and I can take him out just as much as I know that we can take out Jackson Burnside.
There’s a tone shift in Billy’s voice. Not nearly as sportsmanlike or casually competitive as before.
Billy Danielson - And let’s talk about Jackson Burnside, yea? Not just for this sham of a tag team main event, but the fact that Jackson is a man that has lost everything. He went from being the first Champ Champ in nearly a decade, to losing what? Three title matches in 3 shows?
The respect is almost gone from him now. Jackson and Billy had been battling over the Heritage Championship for months now, and Billy had started to lose his cool towards his rival. Jackson Burnside may be relentless, but so is Danielson.
Billy Danielson - Jackson, let’s be honest. For us, this match is just you and me and this Heritage Championship.
He stares into the camera as if looking directly at The Weatherman.
Billy Danielson - You are all I’m focused on. You are the only man I’m staring at when I step into that ring. Chevy and I? We’ll be just as good as we were before we walked into this. Daron? I could care less if he walks out of this match so long as we get the win, and I mean that in the most respectful way possible.
He continues to stare through the camera at Burnside.
Billy Danielson - You though? You are all I see because I see you for what you are. A desperate man looking for one last shot. A man gunning for what was never his, to begin with. A man who wants.
Finally, he breaks his glare, but it is not replaced with a headshake, a scoff, or a smirk. No, Danielson just looks at his Heritage Championship and moves it around to everyone what Jackson wants from Billy.
Billy Danielson - You want what you no longer have because you think you’ve recovered from your exhaustion and burnout. You want the prestige of a title you failed, because you think you can do better, but here’s the thing, Weatherman…
Billy’s voice is still so cold and distasteful. He sees Jackson Burnside as nothing more than a man looking to take away one of Danielson’s crowning achievements. He worked so hard to become a triple crown champion in the UWL, and he wasn’t about to let Jackson end that reign for him.
Billy Danielson - No matter how hard you try. No matter how hard you push yourself. You are not back to 100%. You are not the man you were a few months ago. You pushed too far. You have bitten off more than you could chew, and you are too busy looking for your next bite to realize that you’re still choking.
Danielson spreads his arms as if welcoming the opportunity to get his hands on Jackson Burnside and settle this once and for all.
Billy Danielson - So allow me to finish the job tonight before we ever make it to Starrzone. Allow me to take a moment and finish choking out that last gasp you seem to have at regaining this championship. Allow me to show you why you’re not touching this Heritage Championship so long as I hold it.
He grabs his Heritage Championship off his shoulder and raises it high in the air. Taunting Jackson Burnside with it.
Billy Danielson - Tonight will be the night that you get tired of me always being right, and I promise you, just like my reign as Heritage Championship, it’s not ending anytime soon.
