As the final bell rings, signaling the end of a grueling Double Jeopardy match, the crowd at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga erupts into a deafening roar. #1 Daron Smythe stands tall in the center of the ring, drenched in sweat, his chest heaving with every breath. His eyes, though tired, are alight with triumph as the UWL World Heavyweight Title is handed to him once again.
Confetti cannons explode, filling the arena with a shower of gold and silver. Pyrotechnics burst from the corners of the ring, their brilliant flashes illuminating the ecstatic faces of the fans. The arena's lights dim, replaced by the glowing spotlight that focuses solely on the new champion.
Smythe hoists the championship belt high above his head, the gold glinting under the arena lights. The audience's chants of "Daron! Daron! Daron!" reverberate throughout the venue. As he turns to each side of the ring, acknowledging the adulation, his grin widens, and he pounds his chest in a display of pure emotion.
"The Weatherman" Jackson Burnside, still reeling from his earlier defeat, watches from ringside, respect mingling with disappointment in his eyes. Billy Danielson, equally battered, nods in acknowledgment of Smythe's hard-fought victory before slipping out of the ring, leaving the champion to his moment.
The announcers' voices crackle through the speakers, barely audible over the jubilant crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, for the second time, your UWL World Heavyweight Champion, #1 Daron Smythe!"
The ring fills with Smythe's entourage, friends, and family, all eager to share in his triumph. They lift him onto their shoulders, parading him around the ring as he clutches the title to his chest. Tears of joy streak down his face, a testament to the sacrifices and hard work that brought him back to the pinnacle of the wrestling world.
A familiar theme song blares through the speakers, and the entire arena joins in, singing along, their voices united in celebration. Smythe finally descends from his friends' shoulders and stands once more in the middle of the ring, looking out over the sea of faces. He raises a microphone to his lips, his voice steady but filled with emotion.
DARON: Chattanooga, we did it! This is for all of you who believed in me, who never gave up on me. This is our victory!
The crowd's response is thunderous, an overwhelming wave of support and love. Smythe's theme music hits again, and he makes his way around the ring, shaking hands, hugging fans, and sharing his moment with everyone who made it possible.
DARON: Two years ago, almost to the day, I signed that contract on the dotted line for then UWL, having no idea what I was getting into. I had been out of pro wrestling for more than a decade. I left all of that behind me, thinking I could get it out of my blood. Thinking I could just shut that part of my brain off.
...but over time that noise grew, first a quiet beating of a drum off to the distance, growing ever closer and louder until I could no longer ignore it.
The pro wrestling business is like a drug, and every once in a while we feel that high, that sense of accomplishment as we reach the top run of that ladder, grasping at that imaginary brass ring.
..and I did that one year ago, and once I had it, like the dog chasing that car, I had no idea what to do afterwards. But, this time is much different. They say you don't know what you've got til it's gone, right? I reached the top of that very lonely mountain and even though I knew it would be a lonely place, I had no idea what to do next.
And I blame myself for that. In my life, I've prided myself in always being able to figure out what's next. To never stay stagnant, to never succumb to those negative, intrusive thoughts. But having gone through that, I know what it's like to win and what it's like to lose. I'm ready to take on all challengers - I dropped the ball last time and I guaran f'n tee I'm not going to do that again. So, whoever wants a shot, line up because I'm the UWL World Champion and I'm going to be the champion for a long, long time!
As the celebration continues, the camera zooms in on Smythe one last time, the championship belt gleaming on his shoulder, his face etched with the determination of a champion who has reclaimed his throne. The screen fades to black, but the echoes of the night's triumph linger, a testament to the resilience and spirit of #1 Daron Smythe, the UWL World Heavyweight Champion.
