Cliff Morris - Fans welcome to Only the Strong Survive and we are Championship Promotions home of the Universal Wrestling League. We're here in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia we are finally here for Only the Strong Survive. We have a loaded night of action and it's going to be capped off by our huge main event for the richest prize in our sport the UWL World Championship between Casey Holliday defending against AJ Knight.
Logan Acker - All we've heard is a lot of talk from Casey Holliday since winning the UWL World Championship. I want to see the fire she had before she won the World Championship. Casey Holliday better find it tonight or AJ Knight will walk about with his fourth World Championship all time.
Cliff Morris - We will also see a huge rare three way Iron Man match for the United States Championship. Emma Douglas, Jackson Burnside and the rugged veteran Arch Stanton will come to a head in this battle for the United States Championship.
Logan Acker - The ring may not be big enough to hold these three. Tensions have been building and tonight they come to a head.
Cliff Morris - We will see Kalidah defend the Television Championship against Aiden Prince. We will also see the UWL Tag Team Championship defended as Team Madness defends against Robb Daniels and Lauren Parker.
Logan Acker - Lauren Parker has been in the background for what, forever. Tonight it's put up or shut up time. She's earned this chance, yes. But what will she do with this opportunity?
Cliff Morris - Fans we have every championship under the Universal Wrestling League umbrella defended here tonight. We have a loaded night of action. Let's not waste another second let's go up to the ring and get the action started.

Emily Lyle - The opening contest here at Only the Strong Survive is set for one fall with a fifteen minute time limit!
The acapella voices are heard over the pa system for the first five seconds of the song. When the music starts Justice Cross and Brianna Alvarez walk out from the back onto the ramp and continue down to the ring. Once they are at the ring they get up on the apron and Brianna stops smirking before stepping into the ring and goes around to each side of the ring pointing her finger in the air.
Emily Lyle - At a total combined weight of two hundred and seventeen pounds, Justice Cross and Brianna Alvarez, The Vixens!
When she turns back around Justice turns her back to the ropes and grabs on to the top one flipping herself over landing one foot at a time. Justice then goes from one side to another now posing for the fans before the two meet back up in the middle of the ring.
Justice: Before we start our match Brie and I wanted to just come out here and talk to you a bit first.
Brie: We want to tell you that The Paynes aren't who you think they are. I mean Justice and I were just talking with Penelope minding our own business just trying to tell her what we wanted down for our gear. And what happens? Johnny and Scarlet start sticking their nose into OUR business.
Justice: That's right. And you know what else happened? Johnny said we should have been on poles instead of being in this business. Poles! Can you imagine me on a pole? And why is Johnny looking at me anyway thinking of me on a pole? Guys have been hurt just for looking at me wrong. I pretty much saved your life Johnny. You should have thanked me!
Brie: Or what about when they didn't pay their electric bill?
Justice: Right? I had to collect once from Scarlett for this month's amount due and then a second time from Scarlett for her previous due amount. Oh and then I collected from Johnny for his payment due. And they both learned as many others have before them what it means if you don't pay your electric bill.
Justice and Brie: Lights Out!
Justice: We even tried to be nice and give Scarlett our makeup tips.
Brie: Not to mention we tried to help Johnny see what it was like to have makeup on.
Justice: You would think that everyone would see just how mean the Paynes really are instead of what they want you to believe. I j-
The lights go down in the arena and the heavy drum beats and guitar riffs of “Welcome to the Family” by Avenged Sevenfold begin to echo. Alternating beacons of orange, blue and green rise up, highlighting the entrance ramp.
“Hey kid (Hey kid)
Do I have your attention?
I know the way you’ve been livin’
Life so reckless, tragedy endless.
Welcome to the Family
Hey
There’s something missin’
Only time will alter your vision
Never in question, lethal injection
Welcome to the Family
The always energetic and charismatic Payne twins, Johnny and Scarlett, bound out onto the ramp, each going to separate sides hyping the crowd.
The twins meet back in the middle, high-fiving each other before turning towards the ring.. Johnny walks down the ramp, slapping hands and keeping the energy up as Scarlett skips beside him playing to the crowd.
Johnny heads to the left corner of the ring while Scarlett heads right. They leap up to the apron in unison and then climb in. The twins each scale their respective turnbuckles - Johnny lifting his arms as Scarlett lifts her hand in a “hang ten” gesture while their theme music plays.
Cliff Morris - We're ready to kick off Only the Strong Survive with tag team action. As, The Payne Project takes on the Vixens.
Logan Acker - Let's get it started!
The referee calls for the bell. Starting the match off is, Scarlett and Alvarez. They circle one another slowly moving to lock up. As they do, Alvarez nails Scarlett with a kick to the stomach. She nails her with a pair of punches to the side of her head. Alvarez pulls her up and sends her into the ropes. She comes off the ropes. Alvarez goes for a clothesline, Scarlett ducks under. She turns, Scarlett comes at her with a pair of forearm strikes. She kicks her in the stomach doubling her over. Scarlett takes her down with a swinging neckbreaker. She covers her, the referee counts.
1..
.. Kick out!
Scarlett tags in, Johnny. He comes into the ring and grabs Alvarez up to her feet. He sends her into the corner. Johnny runs in at her, Alvarez dodges out of the way, Johnny slams into the turnbuckles in the corner. Alvarez tags in, Cross. She comes in and nails Johnny in his side with a pair of punches. She kicks him in the side with a pair of kicks. Cross pulls Johnny away from the corner. She nails him with a dropkick sending him down to the mat. Cross goes back into the corner. She runs out of the corner for a knee drop, Johnny rolls out of the way. Cross comes down hard into the mat.
Cliff Morris - Justice Cross took a chance for a knee drop and it backfired!
Johnny stomps away from Cross as she lays on the mat. He jerks Cross up to her feet. Johnny grabs Cross around her head and sends her down with a suplex. Johnny rises up tagging in Scarlett. She goes up to the top rope. Scarlett jumps off the top rope landing down onto Cross with a frog splash. She turns from the impact grimacing in pain. Scarlett turns covering her, the referee counts.
1..
2.. Kick out!
Scarlett rises up pulling, Cross up with her. She sends her into the ropes. Cross comes off the ropes. Scarlett lifts her up and plants her down with a fall away slam. Scarlett grabs Cross up off the mat. She goes to send her into the ropes. Alvarez runs in and they start nailing Scarlett with clubbing shots.
Cliff Morris - Oh give me a break!
Logan Acker - The Vixens taking it to Scarlett Payne!
Johnny comes in and he starts nailing Alvarez. They are trading punches across the ring. Cross comes at Scarlett. He goes to club her. Scarlett comes up kicking her in the stomach. She takes Cross over into a inside cradle, the referee counts.
1..
2..
3..
Cross looks up in shock. Johnny gets away from Alvarez and goes to celebrate with Scarlett.
Emily Lyle - The winners of this match The Payne Project!
The Payne's celebrate the win as Cross and Alvarez look on in shock.

The ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ plays loudly through a Bluetooth speaker, Chris Crippler stands in the middle of an empty locker room holding a mobile phone up, ‘Spotify’ clearly seen on the screen of the phone. Chris pretends to be patriotic by placing his free hand over his heart and looking smug. He lowers his hands and stands before the camera wearing his wrestling robes.
Chris Crippler: I hope you’re all joining in with your national anthem, a national anthem that was written by a Brit, getting you all in the mood for when I step into the ring tonight. Facing a man whose family tree stems from jamestown!
Chris opens his mouth with a shocked impression on his face whilst placing his free hand on the side of his face.
Chris Crippler: I mean the history of my opponent, Troy Martin, should be one of great awe as he is one of the ‘great’ families of America. For over 400 years his family has been the ‘backbone’ of this country and his DNA makes him superior over everyone! Has someone called Netflix yet? I smell MONEY!
He rubs his index and thumb symbolising money with a wicked smile upon his face.
Chris Crippler: But off course you don’t need the money, as your family comes from wealth, right? money and power is all you know. And you have made your intentions on becoming the UWL United States Champion very clear as this is YOUR United States, huh? But let's not forget that your family was a part of the 1607 settlement.
Chris begins to tap the mobile phone screen with his thumb and the anthem changes to ‘God save the queen’.
Chris Crippler: Shall we ignore the fact that the families of the 1607 settlement are from the British Isle? That America was raped of it’s lands by the British, predominantly. So despite you being one of ‘America’s great families’ you come from Britain and your superior DNA is something that stems from MY shore.
He drops the phone onto a bag nearby before continuing.
Chris Crippler: I don’t need to keep the name within the family, like you have done, I don’t need to say where I come from and have my family lineage rammed down our throats. Like a broken record. I am Chris Crippler, a British Legend, the scene stealer and championship hoarder. Tonight, Troy Martin. Tonight you’ll see your ambitions of becoming United States Champion disappear and your ‘Born to Win’ mentality dented.
The end of the anthem plays.
Chris Crippler: Rule Britannia!
Chris stares intently into the camera as the scene fades away.

Cliff Morris - Let's hear these prerecorded comments from Troy Martin before his match up against Chris Crippler.
Troy Martin is in his private dressing room sitting on a couch with two beautiful ladies on either side of him, his arms stretched out. He’s in his wrestling trunks (tonight's color scheme is red, the color of strength) while the ladies rub his bare chest and arms.
Troy Martin: Now how do you like this? I don’t try to break into a loge box like Chris Crippler. Loge boxes are for the lower half of the 1%. People like me, the 1% of the 1%, bring their own VIP area. I’ve got these two fine women here to help me warm up for my match with that dandy, and over there…
He points off camera. The camera pans to the corner of the room.
Troy Martin: ..is my hot tub, where me and my two “personal trainers” here are going to soak after I show Chris Crippler what class really means.
The camera pans back to Martin.
Troy Martin: But for now, I want to show you a video of a little visit I made to one of America’s oldest historical sites, Independence Hall, right here in Philadelphia. Enjoy.
He winks as he continues to be massaged by the ladies. The scene fades out, followed by the fading in of the video, where we get a wide shot of Independence Hall.
We go inside the building, where a tour is being given by a national park ranger inside the Assembly Room.
Troy Martin and his bodyguard, the physically imposing Draco, are amongst the tourists. Martin is in a grey three-piece suit with a white shirt and navy blue tie while Draco is dressed in an intimidating black suit with a black tie and white shirt. The park ranger drones on like Ben Stein’s character from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Park Ranger: The Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly, Andrew Hamilton, oversaw the construction of this building, which began in 1732 and ended in 1748. However, the tower was not a part of the original construction.
Martin yawns loudly.
Park Ranger: On the exterior of the building are marble keystones above each…
Troy Martin: Okay, folks, tour is over! Everybody out!
Park Ranger: Excuse me, sir, the tour is not over yet. It just started.
Troy Martin: Yeah, I don’t care.
Park Ranger: Well, I think the rest of the visitors do.
Troy Martin: I’ll make it worth their while. Draco?
He snaps his fingers. Draco pulls out a wad of cash and starts handing out $100 bills to all of the tourists. They gladly accept and leave the building.
Troy Martin: That’s better.
He hops the rail and starts walking amongst the desks where the Founding Fathers sat and debated as part of the Continental Congress.
Park Ranger: Sir, you can’t be over there. That’s a restricted area. If you don’t leave this instant, I’m going to have to call security.
Troy Martin: Draco, get this dingleberry out of my presence. He's bothering me with his assumption that he's in charge.
Draco grabs the man by the scruff of his neck and drags him out of the room.
Park Ranger: Hey! What are you doing?! You can’t do this! I’m a national park ranger! I’m a…
His voice fades off into the distance. Martin continues walking and looking around the room.
Troy Martin: So here it is, the place where America was born. It was in this room on July 4, 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, making it America’s official statement of rebellion against Great Britain. And my, what a magnificent document it is. Just think of those iconic words, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” Heh.
He flashes a sly grin.
Troy Martin: Or so Thomas Jefferson wanted you to think. You see, as a member of the upper echelon of Virginia society, the Jeffersons and the Martins knew each other well, and before he sat down and wrote his words, Jefferson consulted with my family. He wanted to make sure that the words he was writing would be good enough to fool the simpletons into thinking that the American Revolution was about their needs and desires when in reality, it was about creating a country that the elite of colonial society could control without the burden of having to pay taxes to the British. It was also about creating a system where Power and Money was concentrated in the hands of the few, the ones that deserved it the most.
Of course, that system couldn’t be created unless the commoners picked up their muskets and enlisted in the Continental Army. My ancestors helped Jefferson craft a document that would inspire the rubes to fight and deliver this new country to the elite.
He chuckles.
The truth is, not all men are created equal. There are a few winners and a whole lot of losers. It’s been this way since the dawn of time, and no words on a piece of parchment would change any of that. This room is where families like the Martins went from being big fish in a little colonial pond to kingfish in a vast American ocean, and the same will soon happen in UWL.
It starts tonight when I go up against a British enemy of my own, Chris Crippler, and Chris, just like the British Empire, you are fading. You may have been powerful once and won battles on different continents throughout the globe, but you are not the man you used to be, and I am unlike any wrestler you have fought before. Just like the sun had set on Great Britain’s worldwide reign, the sun is setting on your career, just like we saw last week when you lost to Arch Stanton.
He approaches the Rising Sun Chair that George Washington sat in when he presided over the Constitutional Convention in 1787.
Troy Martin: My career, by contrast, is like the rising sun on this chair, which again, was evidenced last week when I defeated one of your countrymen, Chad Wagner.
Strange. Two matches in a row against aging, weary Englishmen. It’s like UWL is trying to draw some historical parallels here.
Now, if I could do what my ancestors did and convince some bumpkin to do my fighting for me while I reaped the benefits, I would, but then UWL would not allow me to move on to the next step in my plan of domination without bringing a lawsuit against them.
What’s that next step, you ask? That would be getting my shot at the United States Championship. Let’s face it, I’m already the champion of the United States by virtue of being born a Martin. Hell, the Martins were champions of this country even before the Declaration of Independence was issued. I just want the belt that says that I’m the Champion of the United States. Sure, you could say my yachts and my collection of sports cars already do that for me, but I can’t wear those around all day for people to see. The belt will let even the dumbest person know that I am truly the one who’s in charge of this country.
So whether it’s that goober Arch Stanton, that ignoramus Jackson Burnside, or Thunder Thighs Douglas, whichever of you walks out of Only the Strong Survive as the United States Champion, don’t scuff up my fucking belt. Take care of it until you do what you’re meant to do and hand it over to me.
He sits in the Rising Sun Chair and scans the room, taking in the rush he feels as he sits in the seat of power.
Troy Miller: I feel quite at home here. Maybe myself and the rest of the ruling families will use this room to decide who we want to become the next president in 2024.
He puts his feet up on the desk in front of him as he whistles “God Bless America.” The camera pans out and then fades to black.

Martin turns, he walks around the floor gathering himself as Crippler stands in the ring looking on with a disgusted look on his face as he stares at Martin. He leans on the ring apron gathering himself. Martin slides back in the ring. They circle one another. Moving back into a collar and elbow tie up. Crippler backs Martin up against the ropes. The scene cuts to some pre-recorded footage in the Holliday home as Casey and Sydney are sitting on the couch. The camera is right in front of them and they’re both in a confident, yet a little bit more focused mood than they’ve been in, in the past. Once Sydney verifies that the camera is working just fine, they begin to have a more unique type of sit down interview.
Sydney Holliday: This is Sydney Holliday and of course, for this special introspective, sit down interview, I’ve got my sister, the UWL World Champion, Casey Holliday with me. Casey, you really stood your ground against AJ Knight last week and lately, you’ve gotten some of your momentum back. There is definitely a confidence boost with you going into Only the Strong Survive. But, I want to talk about the rough patch that you were going through before you had beaten Jake Mason.
Casey Holliday: I kind of figured you would…
Casey chuckles a bit at this, taking things in stride.
Sydney Holliday: When you’re a world champion, you’re going to have people gunning for you, there’s no denying that fact. That alone can add a little bit more pressure on you… but what you’ve had to endure adds a whole new meaning to ‘off the charts’. Why was it so difficult for you, at least initially, to handle all of that pressure?
Casey does take a moment to herself to really reflect on things. It’s hard for someone as prideful as she is to admit that the pressure was daunting at first, but she doesn’t seem to be shaken even an iota as she answers the question.
Casey Holliday: There was an old ‘trigger’ so to speak that I was dealing with initially. The last time I was a world champion, I had been so for 245 days with 12 successful defenses and yeah, that’s amazing and all but I was in a situation where my world title was a ‘second’ world title because it had a different company’s branding on it. So, the whole roster basically treated it as a joke for 8 months and there I was, a first time world champion at what? The age of 23? Yeah it was daunting… and it eventually broke me down well after I retired that world title. Did I feel like I was experiencing the same thing all over again? Initially, yes. But then the asterisks happening with my matches…
“You beat Billy, but James Edwards interfered…”
“You beat him again, but he pinned you and you didn’t pin him, You won both of your falls by countout”.
That really brought me down… and then Dad woke me up before my match with Jake Mason, thank god for that. I was at least able to beat him, no questions asked. Then of course, that confrontation with AJ Knight. So yeah, things are starting to pick up again.
Sydney Holliday: There are some out there that feel that if you lose the UWL World Championship tonight, that everything you went through was for nothing… that you’ll be known as one of the worst UWL World Champions ever all things considered…
This preface doesn’t sit well with Casey, who merely rolls her eyes.
Sydney Holliday: If AJ Knight defeats you for the world title at Only the Strong Survive, do you think that would validate those claims from those people?
Casey Holliday: I’m sorry, sis, but that’s a very stupid question.
Sydney Holliday: I’m only just relaying some of the word on the street, so to speak.
Casey Holliday: And that’s fine. I’m not going to fault you for that. It’s all a matter of opinion and something that I’ve really had to learn as the UWL world champion, more than anything else in fact, is the good ol’ classic “opinions are like assholes” phrase. At the end of the day, they can analyze my title reign how they want to, but ultimately, I’m the one that gets to analyze it and I’m the one whose opinion matters the most at the end of the day. What you hear from the word on the street is merely gross exaggerations at best. Sure, I would’ve loved it if James Edwards kept his nose out of my business. I would never want to accept a win by interference. To hell with that! It sucked getting pinned by AJ Knight previously, but unfortunately, you can’t win them all. And in hindsight? The way I handled the second match with Billy was stupid. THAT ONE is on me. I wouldn’t call it the worst title reign ever, but being honest with myself, I KNOW I can do better and I know that I NEED this win over AJ Knight to really solidify myself further as the new franchise face of this company. I’m not thinking about ‘what if’ scenarios because I don’t live in that crap. I KNOW I can do better.... I WILL do better… and beating AJ Knight goes a long way toward that…
Sydney Holliday: And finally… last week’s confrontation… where AJ basically admitted it was just him trying to sell tickets, to sum up what he was saying… how good did it feel to say what you had to say to him?
Casey Holliday: It felt GREAT… but I’m not done yet… there’s still a hell of a lot more where that came from…
Casey remains stoic and determined as she stands up from the couch and walks out of the shot, effectively ending the interview…

Cliff Morris - Our next contest is a rematch from a match that took place, February 27th on UWL Saturday Night. Jessie Roberts was able to get the win that night, we'll see if history will repeat its self here tonight.

The scene segues to the hall outside of the dressing room of the newly dubbed Prototype, Lilith Rising. Suddenly the door flies open and a visibly angry Sadie Graves exits, throwing her hands up in the air.
Sadie Graves: You know what?! You do whatever the hell you want! It’s just my job to “manage” you!
Satisfied laughter is heard from within which causes Sadie to huff angrily and stalk down the hall, away from the camera. Lilith emerges moments later with a decidedly new look. Her normally slicked back blonde hair is fashioned into a purple mohawk - much like Rosie’s infamous green one. Instead of her normal skin tight leather pants, she’s wearing a pair of loose fitting black “punk” style wide legged jeans that are adorned with a purple upside down pentagram on the leg. The one thing of her own style that she kept was the midriff baring, skin tight black tank top with “Prototype” written in metallic purple script along with her black leather vest that’s adorned with silver spikes.
Lilith smirks, shaking her head and rolling her yellow green eyes before heading down the hall to a locker room that has become very familiar to her - Jake Mason’s. She turns the knob, not knocking as is her usual, and enters, looking around, her eyes finally settling on the enigma himself. A broad smile curls her dark purple lips.
Lilith Rising: I take it you were expecting me, right?
Jake Mason looks over at Lilith Rising with a look she hasn’t seen before.
Jake Mason: I don’t know what to expect anymore. I can feel myself fading away, and I don’t know if there is a return trip. This very well may be the end.
The smile drops from her lips as she closes the distance between them. She watches Jake’s eyes drop to the floor and that’s when her hand snakes out, slapping the back of his head sharply. Her lips are pressed tightly together, revealing her frustration.
Lilith Rising: I’m only going to warn you once. You’re not going ANYWHERE! Have I made myself clear?
She steps back and crosses her arms under her ample bosom and taps her foot.
Lilith Rising: Have you thought that maybe / just MAYBE - if what got twisted in the timeline gets corrected tonight that - oh, I don’t know - you wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore?!
Jake Mason: Don't know if changes can be made. I don’t even know what slipped in the timeline. All I see is darkness when I try and see the future. The Lord of us all might be wanting to come back to this time. If I can’t do it right. Maybe he feels he needs to fix the mistakes himself, but you may be right. Maybe tonight's events could change the way I go out.
Lilith heaves a heavy sigh, her shoulders relaxing slightly.
Lilith Rising: Remember when the outcome of the battle royal came out backwards? You were eliminated before you were supposed to be. Wasn’t it supposed to be Samuels that went first? What if tonight is your chance to put things back on track?
Jake Mason: What if Ryan Samuels is too dumb to know he is supposed to fall? This needs to be handled with precise movements. If he won’t play his part, then the whole play can’t have its finale. This requires a lot more thinking.
She gives him an arch stare, arms still crossed.
Lilith Rising: You do realize this isn’t all about you right? I mean, it’s Only the Strong Survive man! And in case ya missed it, a partnership goes both ways.
Her eyes close causing her nose to crinkle.
Lilith Rising: Sorry I got hung up last week by the way.
Jake Mason: Everything happens for a reason. Maybe fate was just giving me the time I needed to try and figure the misplaced line out, or maybe it was preparing your path to goddess status. These things are lost to me...for now.
She finally leans down and snaps her fingers in front of his face in frustration.
Lilith Rising: Seriously?! C’mon Jake, If this is going to work, you have to at least acknowledge what I have going on!
Jake Mason looks Lilith up and down.
Jake Mason: You have a great body. That what you are looking to hear, or do you want me to comment on the fact that you face a midget this week with a special needs student for a boyfriend. Is that what you want?
Her lips curl in a genuine smile as her stance finally relaxes. She gently pats her new hairstyle and gives Jake a curious raise of her brow.
Lilith Rising: So whatcha think of the new ‘do? Sadie f**king hates it and she thinks the pants are worse, but it’s all for a good cause, right? The faster I can throw Samwise off - the faster I can shut her down, ya know?
She tilts her head to the side as something clicks.
Lilith Rising: So now it finally comes out - Jake Mason thinks I’ve got a great body! And your overconfidence in my talents is stroking my ego just the way I like it. So c’mon man! Give me your opinion!
Jake Mason: Never said you had a great body. I was asking if that’s what you want to hear. My opinion is you are in Rosie’s head. If I am at ringside I will be in Rosie’s thoughts. She is too distracted to be a threat.
Lilith laughs at the answer.
Lilith Rising: Tell you what. Admit you’ve at least checked me out before and you come to ringside with me. Deal?
Jake Mason: You don’t walk right for a week after a night with me. How’s that for who checked out who. As far as coming to the ring with you. I’ll be down there.
Lilith begins laughing as the scene fades out.

Red mist fills the screen and a voice begins to sing.
“Overture, curtains, lights,
This is it, the night of nights
No more rehearsing and nursing a part
We know every part by heart…”
Lotte appears as the fog begins to dissipate. On either side of her are the Herkmen, Azalo and Nizbel, holding the United States Tag Team Titles in their teeth. Lotte strokes their heads and giggles before address the viewers.
“‘Only the Strong Survive’ is finally here, my lovelies, and I cannot begin to tell you how MARVELOUS that is. Tonight my lovely, lovely boys, the Herkmen will finally defend their talismans, the United States Tag Team Titles, against Euphoric.
“Caroline Clarke and Dayna Grace, do not think for a second that we are underestimating you. Not at all, my dears. NOT AT ALL. Far from it, in fact. My lovely Herkmen and myself are quite aware of just how good you two and I am quite certain you have learned not to underestimate my lovely boys as well. I’m also certain though that you will enter this match just as arrogant and smug as you enter into anyother match and that is where your downfall will occur, because unlike you, Azalo and Nizbel…”
“Azalo!”
“Nizbel!”
“...they have no ego, no sense of arrogance or self-importance. They are creatures with but one goal in their black hearts, to quench their never ending hungers for violence…”
“Violence!”
“Violence!”
“Chaos…”
“Chaos!”
“Chaos!”
“And destruction. They also do night like it when someone tries to take from them what they have claimed. Individuals have lost a fingers trying to take a bone from them and I guarantee they love these talismans far more than any bones. Tonight, Euphoric, I fear you might lose more than a few fingers in your efforts to take the titles from my lovely boys. YOU MIGHT LOSE YOUR LIVES!”
Lotte begins to laugh and the red mist begins to rise back, covering her and the Herkmen again. She begins to sing again as the screen goes to black.
“Overture, curtains, lights
This is it, you'll hit the heights
And oh what heights we'll hit
On with the show this is it!”

Earlier in the afternoon, James Edwards strolled up the stairs of one of The Liacouras Center's upper decks in a worn-looking Lion's Road Dojo tracksuit.
James Edwards: Just because I don't say anything about chatter doesn't mean I ain't aware it.
With the biggest fight of his UWL return just hours away, "The Burning Heart" is walking the stairs as a light warmup.
James Edwards: Billy has always been a sore loser. Strugglin' early in his career turned him into the gassed-up narcissist he is today. So it didn't surprise me that he's spent the last month runnin' me down cause I kicked his face in. Here is the thing, he ain't wrong, I've had a bad habit of turning tail and leavin' places when things got tough.
He reaches the top row of seats, where the cameraperson has been waiting the entire time, and checks his pulse.
James Edwards: I admitted as much when I came back in November, but I'll do it again just for shits and giggles. I didn't want to own up to my loss to Gentry McCray. I came back here expecting to be the guy because I was the most accomplished fighter signed to the League roster during the reboot. There was no way in hell I was gonna lose to a guy that took pride in how many versions of the backslide he knew. There was no way in hell I was gonna lose to a guy who thought I was shit for wanting to fight as many places as possible while he was some hero for signing an exclusive contract. But I did.
Reflecting adds a tinge of bitterness to his voice.
James Edwards: If I'm gonna retread the story, I might as well throw y'all something you ain't heard. I didn't bolt totally because of the loss. I bolted because the crowd treated that asshole like a conquerin' hero for beating me. I let him have that high ground instead of standin' and fightin' for my pride. I regret that more than anything.
He rests his hands on top of his head and gazes down at the ring.
James Edwards: That's why I came back because I didn't want that to be the last memory anyone had of me in this company. Nobody defines me except me. I don't run. I stand and fight, that's who I am, and that's who I've been since I've been back. Billy found that out the hard way, and if he takes me lightly, that's what he is gonna find out again tonight.
He shakes his head.
James Edwards: This ain't the night to be lookin' back. I'm one win away from my shot at the richest prize in combat sports today. I've gotten this far by focusin' on what's in front of me and not behind me, and I'd be damned stupid to abandon what's worked so far.
He tilts his head and looks back at the camera.
James Edwards: Everybody in this position says this, but I mean it. Billy and Thompson can bring their very best tonight. They can beat me black and blue, and it ain't gonna matter. I want this win too bad to fail, and they are gonna have to kill me to prove me wrong.

Emily Lyle - The following contest is a elimination match and the winner will be the number one contender for the UWL World Championship!
The house lights go dark and flickering strobe lights accompany the opening keyboard solo of the classic rock anthem. As the guitars kick in, Edwards appears at the top of the stage bathed in the spotlight. He stands resolute for a moment before briskly walking toward the ring. He takes a lap around the squared circle before sliding under the bottom rope and settling into his corner.
Emily Lyle - From Lexington, Kentucky, weighing two hundred and eight pounds, James Edwards!
GREATEST
OF
ALL
TIME
"Born for Greatness" by Papa Roach plays as the crowd buzzes, as the crowd goes nuts. The first verse plays out, causing more anticipation. As the verse comes to the end it pauses for a moment. All of the lights go out again, but then come right back on in full brightness!!!
NO WE'RE NOT NAMELESS
WE'RE NOT FACELESS
WE WERE BORN FOR GREATNESS!!!
Emily Lyle - From Chicago, Illinois weighing two hundred and forty pounds, Billy Danielson!!
Suddenly, Billy "The G.O.A.T." Danielson walks out from behind the curtain to a huge pop, as he makes his way down to the ring. He's in wrestling gear, high-fiving fans as he makes his way to the ring. He wipes his feet before going up to the apron, and into the ring. The fans continue to cheer as Danielson throws his arms in the air. He slowly backs into his corner and waits for the bell to ring.
The arena goes dark. Simple Man begins playing over the speakers. A lone spotlight appears, and the silhouette of John Thompson stands in the middle of it arms outstretched in a V. For a few moments John Thompson continues to stand in this pose.
Emily Lyle - From Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing two hundred and twenty pounds, John Thompson!
He slowly drops his arms to the sides, then he begins walking to the ring, the spotlight following him. He enters the ring under the ropes, stands in the center posing in the V formation again. The spot light dims as the arena lights brighten. John circles the ring a few times before settling into his corner.
Cliff Morris - It's elimination match time. The winner of this match will become the new number one contender to the UWL World Championship.
Logan Acker - A chance of a lifetime awaits one of these three athletes.
The bell sounds. All three move to the center of the ring. They stand across from one another. John comes at Billy nailing him with a forearm strike. He turns to Edwards catching him with a forearm strike of his own. John grabs Billy around his arm sending him to the ropes. Billy comes off the ropes. John goes for a clothesline, Billy ducks under. Edwards runs at Billy taking him out with a running forearm strike. He grabs Billy throwing him down with an exploder suplex. Billy rolls out to the ring apron, grimacing in pain. Edwards turns, John stands across from him looking him eye to eye.
Cliff Morris - John Thompson looking James Edwards eye to eye not backing down.
Logan Acker - I wouldn’t expect any of these athletes back down.
They lock up into a collar and elbow tie up. John takes Edwards into a side headlock. Edwards hits him with a pair of forearm strikes to his lower back. He lifts John up planting him down with a belly to back suplex. John arches his back grimacing in pain. Edwards jerks him up to his feet as he does, Billy comes out of nowhere and nails Edwards across his back with clubbing shots. Billy grabs him around sending him down to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. Billy covers him, the referee counts.

.. Kick out!
Billy rises up and John grabs him from behind with a rear waistlock. He throws Billy with a release German suplex. John turns, running at Billy nailing him with a running knee strike sending him back onto the mat. John covers him, the referee counts.

2.. Kick out!
Billy grabs Edwards, slinging him out to the ring apron, through the middle rope. Billy jerks John up off the mat. He starts hitting him with slaps to the side of his head. Billy goes to send him to the ropes. But, John blocks it. He sends Billy into the corner. He runs in at him, Billy dodges out of the way. John slams into the turnbuckles chest first. Billy pulls him back over with a school boy roll up, the referee counts.

Billy puts his feet on the middle ropes.

Cliff Morris - Billy Danielson just eliminated John Thompson by using the ropes!
Logan Acker - I missed that. What are you talking about?
Emily Lyle - John Thompson has been eliminated!
John can’t believe it. He’s telling the referee that Billy used the ropes. The referee tells him he didn’t see it and to leave the ring. John hits Billy with the Vegas Bomb (Code Breaker). John leaves the ring making his way to the back.
Cliff Morris - John Thompson just connected with the Vegas Bomb on Billy Danielson!!
Logan Acker - How is that fair?
Edwards runs at the fallen Billy and connects with the Holy Fire (Running Chop Elbow). Edwards covers him, the referee counts.

Cliff Morris - We have a new number one contender for the UWL World Championship!
Logan Acker - Billy Danielson should go to the locker room and hunt John Thompson down like the crook he is!
Emily Lyle - The winner of this match and new #1 contender to the UWL World Championship James Edwards!!
Cliff Morris - James Edwards is a different wrestler than he was when he first won the UWL World Championship. He’s been wanting this and now he’s heading to a collision course with the UWL World Champion who ever walks out as World Champion here tonight.
Edwards stands soaking in the moment, gathering his thoughts and taking everything in.

Emily Lyle - From Lexington, Kentucky, weighing two hundred and eight pounds, James Edwards!
GREATEST

ALL
TIME
