The show opens scanning across the arena.
The picture cuts down to the announcers at ringside.
Cliff Morris - Welcome wrestling fans to London Calling. We're here in London at the York Hall and we're live on the Championship Wrestling Network and we're so glad you joined us for our first trip across the pond and we promise to give you a great night of wrestling action!
The lights in the arena cut out. The crowd begins to stir in anticipation as the lights seems to stay out for longer than a usual amount of time, the energy building in the arena. Rhythmic clapping begins blasting out of the speakers…the lights beginning to pulse with them. The clapping finally gets to the beginning of “POWER” by Kanye West. The crowd begins to stir even more, a frenzy building.
I’M LIVIN’ IN THE 21st CENTURY DOING SOMETHING MEAN TO IT
DO IT BETTER THAN ANYBODY YOU EVER SEEN DO IT
SCREAMS FROM THE HATERS, GOT A NICE RING TO IT
I GUESS EVERY SUPERHERO NEED HIS THEME MUSIC
Caleb Hart steps out from behind the curtain as the song kicks into gear and the lights explode into a frenzy that matches the rhythm of the music. The fans erupt in boos as he stands at the top of the ramp, taking it all in. He stares around the arena, a slight sneer on his face as he begins to walk down the ramp. Stepping onto the ring steps, Caleb stops as the top and looks around the arena, taking it all in as the crowd continues to rain down boos and jeers upon him.
Cliff Morris: Well, this is not what we have on our rundown tonight. Our current World Heavyweight Champion…
Logan Acker: The man who continues to be the snake all of us true believers knew he really was…
Cliff Morris: …Caleb Hart makes an unexpected appearance before his match this evening. And judging by the look on his face, he looks just as happy to be here as the crowd is to have him here.
The camera cuts back to the ring where Caleb slowly paces around, the UWL World Championship proudly over his shoulder. The music fades out, leaving only the ever growing sounds of boos and jeers to fill the arena. Hart shakes his head and lifts the microphone up.
Caleb Hart: And it’s reactions like that that make me thank God we don’t often have to come to this pretentious, self-important, trash heap of a city.
The crowd explodes in jeers as Caleb smirks, continuing to slowly pace around the ring.
Cliff Morris: Our World Champion is doing a great job of ingratiating himself here with our proud English fanbase…how the mighty have fallen.
Caleb Hart: But I get it, London. You see what sophistication and excellence looks like and when it comes from someone like me, you just can’t handle it. You can’t handle the fact that someone somewhere could dare to just be that much better than all your scumbags in this dung heap.
The crowd jeers in response and Caleb pushes through.
Caleb Hart: But I’m not here to talk to any of you cretins, nor am I here to listen to anything you have to say or sounds you have to make outside of that wonderful mouth breathing you all do here due to your just absolutely atrocious dental hygiene. So, do everyone a favor, and shut your mouths so health inspectors don’t come in and have to shut this place down because of the smell.
The crowd starts chanting “Wanker” at Caleb loudly as he grins at the people at ringside.
Cliff Morris: This is low, even for someone like Caleb.
Logan Acker: He’s always thought he was better than everyone, now he’s just not hiding it anymore.
Caleb Hart: Now, on to the real business and why I’m here. No, I’m not here to talk about how great of an athlete Garland Brown is, and how tonight I really hope that I can withstand that storm!
Hart rolls his eyes.
Caleb Hart: Garland Brown is a strong competitor and I have no doubt he’s going to give me everything he has tonight. All he has isn’t enough. You know that, and I know that. If you’re a praying type, do him a favor. Tonight, pray he survives. Pray that he doesn’t become another statistic like Tyler Barrett – that poor kid who had everything offered up to him and decided to piss on my good will. That worked out great for him, right? No, let’s talk about the real elephant in the room. Let’s talk about Jackson Burnside.
The crowd cheers in response to Burnside’s name.
Caleb Hart: Oh, him you cheer? You people are unbelievable, you know that? You boo a man who comes out and tells you and everyone else the truth, but you cheer the man who had spent months gas-lighting you all about how great he was and how he was the true Superbeast? Unbelievable. You know what, it doesn’t matter. Jackson made a very good point this week. You see, the beating I gave him in our match…the one I promised him, the one I told him and the rest of you was inevitable…he won’t be getting a title shot any time soon. He’s got to work his way back up. He’s got to scratch and claw back up that mountain just for me to kick him right back down, hitting every rock and tree on the way.
Caleb shakes his head.
Caleb Hart: But that’s the thing about guys like Jackson. They don’t realize when they can’t win. They test their limits, constantly pushing, always coming up just a bit short. They compete and compete, but the one thing they can’t do is the one thing that I have spent the last twenty years of my life doing…they can’t be dominant. They can’t be an alpha when it matters.
Hart holds up the UWL World Championship.
Caleb Hart: Jackson went face to face with the alpha, and realized why there is only one. This right here says that I am the absolute best in this industry, in this company, and in the world. This?
Caleb pulls the title back down and resets in on his shoulder, slapping it.
Caleb Hart: This is the top of the mountain. This is my kingdom. And if Jax thinks he has any chance of coming and claiming what is mine, he’s going to find out the hard way that the first beating is just a warning shot across the bow. What I do next time?
He shakes his head.
Caleb Hart: That’s going to make what I did to Tyler Barrett look like foreplay. London, I’ll keep this short and simple.
The crowd cheers loudly in response, as Caleb rolls his eyes.
Caleb Hart: Short and simple – just like the people of London. Whether I’m facing Tyler Barrett, Garland Brown, Jackson Burnside, or anyone else that thinks they can step up to me, the end result is always the same. One more broken dream, one more broken body, and one more night in which I have proved that which I have said over and over again for my entire career. I’m done pretending I’m not the dominant force that I’ve always been. I’m done caring about how it looks, about how it feels. This isn’t the Caleb Hart comeback tour. This is the Caleb Hart revenge tour. And I’m taking it out on every single person who wants to step up. May God have mercy on your souls…because I won’t.
Caleb tosses the microphone out of the ring and begins walking up the ramp, ignoring the jeers from the crowd.
The camera fades back to Cliff and Logan.
Cliff Morris: That man has lost his mind, Logan. What was left of the humanity of Caleb Hart has faded into the abyss and what’s left is just a creature full of rage and spite. Should be an interesting night for the rest of our roster.
Logan Acker: I agree, Cliff. Though I’ve always hated him, even I have to think that he’s lost his mind. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I think if anyone is going to be able to stop him, it’s going to be Jackson Burnside. And knowing Jackson, I know he’s going to have one hell of a response to this…
Cliff Morris: He sure will. Jackson doesn’t back down from a fight or run away from conflict. Caleb may find out the hard way that there is more than one side to the Superbeast who we will see later on tonight. Let’s head back to the ring for our first match of the evening…
