UWL in conjunction with the Universal Wrestling League are proud to announce the format of two new championships and the format of a yearly tournament.
During recent meetings with the UWL board members they voted to add a new yearly tournament “Queen of the Universe” which will be contested in UWL and will not only be open to UWL but will have slots open to participants from outside UWL and UWL member territories.
Also during the meetings was the first Queen of the Universe Tournament to crown the first UWL Women’s World Champion which will be sanctioned by the Universal Wrestling League.
The Women’s World Championship wasn’t the only championship that was announced. A second Women’s championship will be introduced. The UWL Power Championship.
“These championships will give women wrestlers the platform to shine and we are looking to add Women’s Tag Team Championships in the future as well. These championships are not be looked at as lower card, or anything of that nature. These belts will main event cards and be given the spotlight they deserve. ” Said UWL and UWL President Jay Jefferson.
We will have a later announcement and when sign ups can be made for the Queen of the Universe Tournament.
